  1. what do you do after 6:02am hahaha
  2. Yeah I reckon you are. I reckon anything after 4:30 am is a morning post. Not an insomniac or drunken one.
  3. Cheers for looking after my thread whilst I've been absent Stevie boy. If any chainsaw protective clothing manufacturers are reading this, Mick wants British army, I want real tree mossy oak, and Shrek will pose for the advert to make sure you sell hundreds. Cant believe anyone would ask why You would want Camo trousers.
  4. Can any of the Mods' find out who has officially made the earliest post ever??
  5. thats not what she said. (consider the tone officially lowered as I can now Log on again)
  6. Can anyone help me. I have this image in my head of a pair of camouflage chainsaw protective pants. Did I dream them up or are there some available on the market and I happened to stumble across them online??? I want some. So does Shreks Wee Sister.

I'm afraid I am going to have to issue you with your second verbal warning for that comment. You WILL learn. I'd like to point out that I do own 2 Husqvarna chainsaws (sorry guys), they are both stripped down collecting dust in a rat infested corner of my workshop. Never to see the light of day again.
  8. Ive been busy, give us a chance. it's not all about you, you know hahaha will be in touch.
  9. In the question you asked which was best?? best for what exactly?? Yellow = highways Orange = railways. I got some nice orange long sleeve polos and printed company name on them for day to day, then got a few yellow vests to pull on near roads.
  10. if you measured it twice, did you go once up and then once down and then added the numbers together hahaha
  11. Slightly random, but still on subject (in a fashion) Has anyone noticed if you grit your teeth and scream "ICELAND" at the same time, then you can lift anything. Try it next time your chucking the big timber on to the transit. It actually works.

    MEWP or Climb

Its a grey area, as far as I'm concerned. Climbing is the reason I do what i do. It's my life. Just a conversation I had with someone from BTS that basically went along the lines of HSE blah blah blah, Climbing must now be justified. Cost can't be justification for a risk assessment. Surely.

    MEWP or Climb

I have always been under the impression that climbing a tree was supposed to be "last resort". This was backed up the other day by a chat about AFAG regs changing and updating and now if I'm correct, your risk assessment has to justify climbing as being only possible solution.???? feel free to correct me and enlighten us all.
  15. I have Creedence Clearwater Revival (greatest hits) on loop from the Ipod in my Transit. Does that make me a Hillbilly??

haha. Cheers Mick. I'm gonna re-start this thread for Dan (the man) and put his point across a little more elequently. Hi, My name is Dan. I'm 18 yrs old and have been working casually within the tree industry for nearly 2 years. The so-called "tree surgeon" that I worked for has done nothing but use me and my keen-ness to his own gains. He has done nothing but take the mickey and push me to my limit whereby i nearly got to the point of hating trees. He has shown no intentions of teaching me anything, (even when I have asked), he has wanted nothing more than someone to pay measley cash in hand to, to do all the dragging out, fueling saws, feeding the chipper and sweeping up. I have met Frank on numerous occasions when He came to sub-contract climb for "said" tree surgeon. I couldnt help but admire Franks enthusiasm and passion for his job and all shiny climbing gadgets. I am now in a position where I am not willing to help the other guy line his pockets. I want to better myself and gain the qualifications and experience whereby I can enjoy a job the way that Frank does (maybe not so much as actually hugging the trees haha). Can anyone offer me )and Frank) any advice on which way to turn, college courses or chainsaw tickets?? tech cert or ND??? AA or ISA?? is there funding available to get someone into a job??/ etc etc. Much obliged. Serious answers only, jokes to be sent to Frank via P.M

definately unsuitable, must be removed now. haha. Plus, the last thing you wanna do is let any one know that you know me, you will never get a serious answer. haha
  22. Or if your not as handy as big Deano, you can do what I do and surround youself with all types of proffessionals. My best pals are a sparky, a plumber, a builder, a mechanic, a panel beater, and a welder fabricator. Work for work anyone. Or work for beer money. haha But If I can do it. I do do it.
  23. a good point , well made. So............. I have just purchased a few petzl okTL (ovals), am I going to notice any significant difference to my v.t sytem compared to my pear shape spin-locks that I had. I hasten to add that, had it not been for Arbtalk I would not have had any idea how a shape in krab could have any affect.(thanks guys, Rupe in particular)
