  1. ah ha, heres the proof. Mr Hodson of Arborology (Not anlaby tree services) with a 441 blazing, felling said Beech.
  2. I heard anlaby tree services brought a massive chipper to the party. Then went to the shop and dint bring everyone sandwiches.
  3. It was the first thing I noticed. Didnt want to scare the poor lad though.
  4. Heres Sciadopitys (Rock steady Eddie) and I. In training for some upcoming competitions.
  5. This Acer looks a bit happier though.
  6. heres a poorly Beech tree. when I say poorly, I mean................DEAD
  7. is that picture black and white???
  8. I resent that totally. You have been well out of order. I cant believe you dare say things like that. I HAVE NEVER HAD A QUIFF.
  9. Yeah they are quite similar, and I only just moved onto some 8mm red and black friction cord last week, off of the yellow and black stuff. My take down methodology (is that a word?) is simply, "tree, meet ground".
  10. Are you from the suffolk area?? NO. Surely you would have to assess who, or what would be at risk if the rope snapped whilst trying to pull over the tree. Most ropes that fail inspection only get the bit that is knackered cut off and the rest is fine. I have about 4 eyeless ex-climbing lines that dont coresspond with my v.t set-up so are redundant but look good hanging on my workshop wall.
  11. we, split triple ladders and lash them to the trunk using bailer twine and para-cord, then take it in turns to climb up and cut of limbs. Once the tree is "de-limbed" we erect a scaffold tower around the trunk and dismantle it piece be piec using a battery operated recipricating saw. Not really. Petzl Sequoia Petzl Swivel V.T w/hitch climber (2x Peztl OK Karabiners) Yale Blaze 11.1mm Rope (recreational use only haha) Edelrid Cambium Saver Lanyard - Yale 10mm (3.5m), ISC Rope Grab, 2 x Isc Karabiners
  12. Cor, that rope looks clean. Is it new?? You could do with some HAIX boots mate. (available at F.R.Jones)
  13. Did someone say "redneck"?? Yeeehaa.
  14. " short back and sides please, well, it is a barbers chair isnt it".
  15. looked like a bloomin good day out. Next one in Hull??????
  16. thats where he is comfortable handling the 11cm.
  17. I dont want to alarm you but there isnt a Karabiner on the end of your lanyard. Just make sure you attach one before you climb next.
  18. surely you could loose about 4 inches of "drop" by pulling the distel closer to the pulley, by re tying your fishermans and snipping off excess. Make a much neater set-up.
  19. yeah thats right.
  20. personal preference, but just buy loads and play.
  21. tend to use more fuel with hedges, than saw work. Business overheads are still the same, although you dont need a second climber. So can make it slightly cheaper. But all my regular hedge clients know I wont leave until their bush is trimmed immaculatley, so dont mind paying slightly more than for "gardeners".
