  1. Yep, its all good, and it is hard choosing what to go for, and not nice when someone critisises it, or points out a spelling mistake which had gone un-noticed!!!!!! But, Treevolution is not called Tree : volution. The play on words does not need spelling out.
  2. I think your right, but is the company called treetment? no need for the punctuation, the web address looks fine, I'm just not sure what Tree :tment is for. Call it Treetment and leave folk to work it out. I'm still in a bad mood but have just been to see signwriter and he is doing it again tomorrow (only had it done yesterday!) Can't go to work till its done anyway cos its also needs a clutch, going for that this afternoon. Grrrrr!!!!!
  3. Whats a "tment"? Is it a scotticsh thing? I get the "treetment" idea, its not great but I get it. But why seperate the Tree and tment with a : ? Are scottish people not clever enough to work out that treetment is a play on words, so you've had to seperate it out? If so then why isn't the website tree:tment? And is the capital T in the web address due to auto correction of the text software? Mine does that, after www. it then assumes you want a capital after the . it can be corrected afterwards. BTW I'm in a bad mood cos my signwriter can't spell "arboricultural" so its all got to be done again!
  4. We used to use a big beech at westonbirt that had been used for the workclimb in the European comp of 2003? I think thats right. All you need is some tape at each target (or flowerpots ) its up to you to know that you reached them properly, no point in putting bells up. Usual time allowed for a workclimb is 5 minutes for a big tree and maybe 7minutes for a massive one. 10 minutes on you first go is v.good though!!
  5. I've just sent to application off...........
  6. Get friendly with a consultant near you (one that doesn't do tree work as well if possible) and recomend him for this type of work and he should in turn recomend you to carry out the work that he advises. As long as you are properly qualified and insured, no consultant would be ahppy to recoemend someone unless they are up tp scratch, but if you can get a good working relationship going then it could be a good for both parties.
  7. Just sent my application off today.
  8. If you do reports then you would know what to do, if you don't do reports then, well, don't.
  9. Thats about it! It can mean lifetime of the product, so if after 10-20 years its worn out then the lifetime of the product has expired. In the case of Karrimor, the company has been sold at least twice since then and the brand is now owned by Lonsdale who are selling karrimor gear cheap in many of there highstreet chav stores. Anyway they do not recognise the old gaurantees. and karrimor as a company does not exist. Is Gelert an actual company or just a brand name? Who would actually honor the gaurantee? And in 10 years who would honour it?
  10. You'll struggle to find any chainsaw chaps here, its all trousers (pants) for proffessionals, maybe some DIY places sell chaps for homowners. Graft is hard work, and sallopettes are for skiing in the 80's! As for a general glossary of terms! You have no chance! I don't understand what anyone says most of the time so you have no hope.
  11. Don't get too excited about lifetime gaurantee!! I think "lifetime" can mean anything the manufactorer wants it to mean. It certainly does not mean "lifetime of the person who buys it". Its a made up term that has no real meaning. My Karrimor rucksak that I bought in 1988 had a lifetime gaurantee, its completely battered now, do you think they would give me a new one?
  12. I bought my timberwolf TW150 new last year and noticed the tow hitch had been changed from the old bradley one too an AL-Co. One. Bit of a shame but no worries. Anyway the actual bit that clamps over the ball hitch has bent over to one side and the chipper is not really towable. I'm sure I can get this part as a replacement easy enough, but my question is can I change the whole assembly to a bradley one? And if so, what model? Thanks

    Arb Shows

For the Arb show there is a tiny railway station nearby called Kemble. It is about 4 miles from the showground, and plenty of trains go there from London Paddington everyday, some are direct and others you would have to changes trains at Swindon.
  14. Ok, in this country then HMS means Hemi Spherical. It refers to the shape of the biner, not what it may or may not be used for.
  15. I was dissapointed that my brand new chipper had a manufacturing date of over a year before I got it, but I got over it and its ok now. Harness would be relativley less dissapointing, and easier to get over.
  16. Loler is from when its put to use, as long as its not been in daylight for 4 years. Same as with helmets. If it has a manufacturers date of 2005 but you record it going into service in 2008 then the 2008 date is fine.
  17. I think your all missing something simple here....... Munter hitch can be put on any karabiner, so its nothing to do with that. HMS = HeMi Spherical. i.e. offset, or curved to one side, as apposed to being symetrical on both sides like the old style pear shaped ones were. The term has been in use since the eighties at least, and back then a munter hitch was called an italian hitch anyway and so has nothing to do with the HMS name.
  18. 100 quid for a fake one, and don't mention the word huskqvarna would be ok. At least now he knows, and his girlfriend knows she got stuffed in the divorce (as if I actually believe that bit!!)
  19. Im not a husky expert. Is that another fake, or is the assumption that its stolen?

    ETCC Prague

Rhys, shouldn't the ISA (UK-I) have registered you (all) already? Or do you need to do it your self? Or is the registration just a confirmation that you are attending?
  21. Yep, I thought so, but as I was typing I was un certain.
  22. Would it be the cable that clips on to the metal strip of the choke lever has come off? It can be seen just under the front of the top handle bit, where the handle bolts down onto the AV mount. I might be wrong, it may that it wouldn't start if that cable was off, cant remember.
  23. They do come with sliced eyes if that what you ask for! They are all sold by the meter aren't they? So you order the length you want and ask for eyes if you want. I've never bothered with them but can see the advantages.
  24. Just think of how knackered it must have been to warrant a full respray. A well looked after one, with a few dents and scratches and a service history would be better than a fully disguised one. But they were good little chippers, so if the engine is ok then it coudl be good, but engine and bearings are more important than paintwork.
  25. It is only static in comparison to try dynamic ropes like rock climbing ropes. It does actually have some give in it, enough to classify it as semi static. If you ever climb on a static rope you will feel the difference.
