  2. What a good picture of the wood anenomnes. In all of my woods i only have one plant. But i have lots of early purple orchids. Sounds like you had a good day

  7. I say it is all sporting here but that is not all true, the owner is mad on trees and wild flowers so he is always wanting work done in the woods. we are also trying to clear all the neglected ponds.

  11. Hi ben we had our last hall shoot sat but we have three beaters days tues thur and sat.Yes the pond is finished it is an old farm horse pond and it has been cleaned for great crested newts we have a lot of them. what are you up to.

  13. Yes i agree i like seeing what you plant grow and turn into a future wood. What evergreen shrubs do you plant? laural and lonicera i have stopped planting lonicera as it goes to wild.

  15. Yes same as you the last couple of weeks. I am burning mostly oak off of the park and i have piles of oak cordwood stacked in the park shelter belts you must look after yourself no one else will haha

  16. Hi Sean i did see the oak and thorn i have got some the same i will try and find them and get some pics. Yes a visit would be good to be honest when i came to Richmond park i was lost it is far better to have a guide.

  18. Hi ben as you know we have a deer park and i wanted to put in a deer leep but they said no. There used to be one the old keeper remembered it. The thing is the stags outside are in such good condition and large and would bring in new bloodline. I am busy tidying up ready for three big events in the park.

I don't let gamekeepers decide nothing and we don't have a forestry consltant but we do have a land agent but he does not know an ash from an oak. true story this he took me in rondwood to mark up two or three oaks to sell as timber trees he marked one and it was an ash he said no it is not ash trees have smooth bark the tree was at least 300 years old with deep fisures.
