  1. That'd be good Sam cheers. I was interested in the power unit he was using but had no power left In my camera when I came across him carving.
  2. Some great pictures here Sam.
  3. Or maybe it was pneumatic? Can anyone shed some light on this as it was new to me?!
  4. Great show, plenty for everyone there too. Did anyone get a Picture of the hydraulic chainsaw being used by one of the carvers?
  5. And then i read this post ......
  6. So, in a roundabout sort of way, could it be that they are saying prune/reduce/make safe, but do not remove 100 % of the tree??
  7. Yep I'll be there
  8. IMO Husky have so much riding on this new saw that it's got to be good. Because of this I'm going to try it if my 200 lasts until the release date. Hadn't heard about the new Stihl, is this the replacement to the MS200?
  9. My guess would be SRT. Wouldn't mind seeing this instead of footlock myself, seeing as I can't lock for diddly
  10. Cheers Steve I'm having a problem getting any docs to appear when I click on the ISA TCC banner at the top the threads posted page on the TCC page here. Now that I've seen this page I recognise it but just couldn't find it earlier.
  11. Can anyone mail me a copy of the application form for this years TCC? I'm expecting one from the ISA after asking them today, but if possible I'd like to sort it this weekend whilst I have time. And thinking about it, if Steve has no objections, it might help others if it is available here for anyone to download?
  12. I use insulation tape instead of a bandit... purely because I've never got round to buying any bandit's. Probably for the same reason as you guys in that I'm not happy with the thought of potentially cross loading the bina in a fall.
  13. Friday only now. Cheers
  14. I've seen you move like that Rupe!! An it was on a VT! But you did say to me that it very rarely self-tends quite as sweetly as it was that day. I am attracted by the lack of fiddling/tweaking the SJ would require, but having spent an hour on 1 once felt I'd never be able to climb the same way as I can on A VT. If I could I'd switch straight away!!
  15. I'm thinking the same. Great advert for the SJ.
  16. Going to be fri, poss thur
  17. Work is Bala/Dolgellau. I have work for either a climber or groundsman, possibly both. Get in touch here or on 07900 827575
  18. I use one. Always with me in the basket but not always attached to anything. There are occasions when dropping a saw is preferable to it taking you, and possibly the MEWP with it.
  19. You might be interested to know that the Ropeman MK 3 is on the way Link to it, and a few other new bits of kit, here http://www.ukclimbing.com/gear/news.php?id=2910
  20. Hi Bob. Had thought that I'd had a quick look at a bina's manufacturers info after this guy mentioned this, been a while now so can't be sure. Not in habit of keeping everything that comes with my kit Agree with you Tom but even after I'd packed it in for the day at minus 20 odd last year my kit was still living in the back of the pickup over night
  21. Are there any LOLER inspectors or the like who can shed any light on what's the lowest temp our metalwork should be exposed to? Has been mentioned to me that -17C is what bina's etc are rated to??
  22. I've been fitting the pantin lower lately, prefer the feel of it here ascending SRT. This is when it becomes a PITA to fit. Probably only used a dozen times or so ,so still lots of tweaking still to be done. Slightly aside from this Rupe, you changed your SRT setup using TM of bridge/bina/croll/inner tube?
  23. Tried this, seemed to work briefly but the tape soon disintegrated during climbing. I had been thinking that I shouldn't need to be doing this with it so stopped, but as has been mentioned, the Pantin wasn't designed to be worn with Haix Pro Extremes.
  24. Nice 1 Rupe! slightly embarrassed now that the solution looks so simple I at least now know I'm not the only1 to be having problems with the bloody thing! Craig, not sure about the fact that the CMI locks the rope, do you not think this feature is help those with bad form ?? ) Seriously though, I am starting to wonder if I need to look for a replacement to the pantin, the CMI could be it. Do you know if there is anything similar that does not lock the rope?
  25. Hey Drew, does the stitching of the Velcro still allow you to adjust the sizing under foot?
