  2. my new hobbs has arrived,what a bit of kit..cant wait till the weekend to try it out..obviously the wife isnt impressed ,but my eight and a half month grandson is and of course myself..roll on the weekend ..

  5. freelance climber seeking work within 50miles of swansea would travell further if money is right ,own kit & saws fully qualified 9yrs climbing experience 15yrs in the trade..

  8. THANKS FOR THE FEED BACK GUYS ! its a bit like marmite you either love it or you hate it ! i only use it to get into the crown on big trees , when im in i switch to a blakes .thanks again:icon14:::wave:
  9. anybody out there using this system ? ive been using this system for straight access for about a year now any feedback off any of you guys out there how you find them.

  12. phycological would be the best way. get a few of your burly mates,transit van grab him one night, take him up the woods, you wont have to lay a finger on him,his mind will do all the work for you ! your mates tell him that a friendof a friend and that if anything happens again they will be back . he will be crying like a baby !

  15. i work for my local council, we have had 10 lads in as many months ,im eager and keen to teach any one who wants to learn but some of these lads havent got the mental or phyisical strengh ,one lad just got layed off he ,s worked for various companies but wouldnt go out on a limb unless somone was in the tree with him ? got relivent quals but scared to branch walk and make some pathetic excuse to come down. he told me before he left he was going to fit stoves for a living ! good luck to him!!!

  18. one of the boys i work with has just done it , i think it was with lantra (very hard) theres alot to do with ledgislation, fungi id, he told me theres a 70% fail rate ,when inspecting the trees 4 hazzards they had to give compass berrings what side on the tree there was a problem

  20. there are alot of youngsters out there , who have seen treesurgeons at work and think they wouldnt mind becoming an arborist . maybe the courses should be longer(training) there,s quite alot out there who arent mentaly or fisicaly capable of doing the job
  21. the power capstan good tool 4 pulling cant use multi strand with it !theres alloy block stops rope going behind pulley that snaps if use multi strand
  22. do you think that some assessors are giving out qualifications too easily? it seems to me that this is the case? i work for my local athority we have had some right ones the wanabees! the 90fts! the tree kickers!:
  23. i havent had any dealings with 084 but the 3120xp u get alot of vibration with 36inch bar we use them with my local council . i think the 395xp far better better balance no vibration , i got 28inch bar n mine it does the job u dont get so fatiged
