Yes correct... I had a .EU address..... I know it was unusual but I had connections out there in the 2000's.... Now British residents are banned from having one... and I haven't had the opportunity to relaunch yet...as it was so out of date I need a total revamp... Nice to hear you all here again...

Everyone thinks that it's too much gear to wear, but I tell you, if I am tempted to not use it for 5mins sanding , OMG do I feel all my nasal passages suffering for a day or so. You don't realise what damage you might be doing until you remove the hazard. AND full eye protection is invaluable, no more lumps of clinker in your eyes in the mornings, no more micro scratches to prematurely induce catacts...... I am going to be doing this into old age, hope you are all going to be too!!

I always fancied mounting a butt on a faceplate especially made for a tractor PTO......not in the rule book me thinks. Truth is it is just a lot of sawing and practice. The key is to start with the right proportions. Cut the log into a perfect cylinder Equal Hight and Diameter. Then go from there. Please do post any results David.

Great!...Glad you like guys, would love to make some more with different styles, Its just finding the right logs, big (these are 1m) and equal lenght to width....Always puts me off cutting up a bigger butt that I could make something else with.....

Thanks Everyone...! Yes Bart, great, Delighted you like it ......Personally I think it is the best think I have made this year so far.....It has a nice simple elegant form but with the contrast of texture and colour on the underside.....For me a complete synthasis.... And yes to all Tom.....Pay first, yes...pay commission, yes...You don't have to be there all the time, there is usually a rota between artists, BUT...I am there all days..... to sell as much as possible....And I love meeting the people....Best thing about this kind of event is the great feedback and contacts you make...Love Brighton every year.

Absolutely The Fiveways Artist group where I am showing is the original in the country, Invented by a painter called Ned Hoskins. Apparently Open house events are the biggest money earner for artists in the country now, even more than gallery's. I think it's great...... much better to meet the people, and so many interesting views and comments.....it's any event I would not miss.

Yea not bad..Getting there, slowly, made some nice things, and thats a lot to say as I am not easily pleased. But that kit looks great ....All those bits.!!!!..Like a flexi shaft as well and a fence for routing and and........................ Cant wait to see how it works out....You may be able to use it first like a router to cut a board as a pattern jig for your scroll work....Endless possiblities...Good on you Mate.....Please do post any results.....

Astounding Simon, the effect is so realistic. Works of art in themselves...But how did you finish them, they dont look sawn from here? I bet you cant wait to use this on a big scale! Well done and thank you for sharing. Inspirational . Really.

I use my mobile phone (SE K800i) as it is programmable using Java Mobile J2ME. I wrote my own script but it is embarrassingly buggy and set for my own preferences. Here are links to others on the web. each has its own +/- aspects, and will not all work on all phones. You will have to play around. One important point is that they don't explain that you can change the access permissions of the application before you use them by highlighting the installed "JAR" in the phone and selecting "More>permissions>Multimedia/read/write once or never....etc" If you have an afternoon to waste have fun. Oh and I use various compiling progammes.....VirtualDub is open source and very good at rendering video out of sequences.....

If you have the batteries It might be worth a try as the saw body is about £100. I can only say that it is definitely not a replacement for any normal saw. I justified it because of a specific application, doing detailed work while not having a noisy, heavy, fumey petrol saw ticking away all the time. The best bit for me is it starts and stops instantly.. how much more relaxed is that.... better for thinking beautiful sculptural things.....I could even use it in the front room! The biggest difference is the chain speed of only 5m/sec.....very slow.... but offers advantages of low noise and less oil mist while using it on the surface like a grinder. The modification:- Full house chain(all teeth) to assist in the cutter speed and hopefully smoother cutting. A hand made custom 6" carving bar with a mm nose (took me far too long to make but was worth it)

Attention! before anyone rushes to buy Be aware this saw you see me using has been modified for my purposes. I can't make an honest assesment of it until I have used it more. The batteries are the most costly part as I invested in 2 Lithium Ion packs with a computerised charger that turns them over in about 1/2 hr, just quickly anough to keep up with my use. I do not know the long term performance as yet and will post a more honest review in the future. Thanks for watching
