  1. That's a shaving cut to some of these hairy arsed foresters Pete. Bad one that, didn't realise it was so deep.
  2. Did they have MEWPs when you were young Bob  Must have been steam powered, they'd have scared me too, no wonder you have a phobia
  3. My dogs are religous. 5pm every day they pray at the alter of food.
  4. Totally non religous. I have no objections to any religion at all and would encourage it if it helped that individual to live a fulfilled and better life. Provided that it isn't forced upon anyone else or shoved in other peoples faces. Knocking on doors really does my head in, my mate suffers from being woken at certain times of the day by loud hailers after he's been on nightshifts. I suppose you could argue a case for church bells, they used to do my head in when I lived up Queensbury. If it is kept behind respective doors and doesn't encompass the local non believing resident as a captive uaudience then I have no objections. You can worship cats if you so wish.
  5. I,ve dropped screws into the carb or inlet manifolds numerous times Just reminded me has that Mike. Should be on the tips page this though. If you ever come across one of those curved magnets, like the ones in a DC motor preferably two, put them on your oil filter, one on either side. Any metalic bits, including minute stuff is captured, I have done this for 20 years and right at the beginning I disected a filter, you wouldn't believe the microscopic crap that they catch.
  6. If you saw that in a garden centre it would be a lot more than £160
  7. Congrats Martin, aching will decrease as you build up the muscles required, just keep practicing.
  8. I'll have a look at that Pete, but the machine has only done 100 hours so far. My mates Greenmech is showing theose signs, never thought to check Hydraulic oil !! The motors are really powerful, when they do jam you can hear the pressure relief valve whistle on bandits and that has been pressure checked and set. So the motor are getting full pressure.
  9. just picked up the nearly new engine I bought from ebay. Looks as though it has at some point been exposed to the elements and it hasn't got injectors in I was anticipating taking the head off and fine honing the cylinders. However, when I arrived back home my endoscope had arrived, all £300 worth. Had a look in the cylinders through the injector hole and lo and behold, water in the cylinder marks. I tried moving the pistons which weren't seized, it looked like surface rust so I filled the cylinders with diesel and turned them over slowly, working them up and down steady. Blew the cylinders out with the airline and reinspected, Clean as a whistle, so the endoscope has paid for itself already. I have also seen that the cross hatching on the cylinder walls is totally unmarked so the engine hasn't even been ran in. It has a funny adaptor instead of the flywheel, which will tie in with what the lad said about it has only ever ran on a bench for some unknown reason. Nice engine though, going to ebay the disco fly by wire injector pump and the aircon pump which are water marked but can tell they are as new. Want to find a mouse hole to try my endoscope on next
  10. Hell of a lot of wastage with using a chainsaw from what I can see and a lot of clearing up. Whats sort of money is a basic bandsaw mill or isn't is as protable / practical
  11. An all time classic with a twist. [ame] [/ame]
  12. Something a bit more up to date [ame] [/ame]
  13. No offence taken Ed, Pete will tell you I'n not easily offended. I tried to add "Said, as he walked away head lowered, shuffling his feet and picking up his Tom Jones CD has he went" onto the end of my last post but I was timed out on the editing Most things I say have a hint of sarcasm attached. Going of topic a little, but I have just got back with said engine, put it at front of 14ft trailer which allowed the back of the trailer to bounce alittle. A big piece of wood only bounced out and across all three lanes coming to rest on the central res. No cars were around at the time but it shocked me how it could happen like that. Move the engine to the middle at next opportunity. For the record, I like a wide range of music from punk to ballad. But I can't listen to rave stuff, just sounds like white noise to me. I'm sure it sound much different at a rave Old Monkey seems to have a similar taste to me, must be the "old" bit that we have in common
  14. Been drinking and lost your sense of humour Ed? I'll stay out of this thread then if humour isn't welcome. Obviously an exclusive club Anyway, I'll set off to Daventry now to pick my engine up and listen to my boring platitudes on my own in my own exclusive club
  15. Never had iced tea, how does that go ?
  16. I went through a stage of wanting a paraglider then a hang glider, luckily the stage passed
  17. Hell, aint there some preachers
  18. A true tea drinker = no milk, no sugar
  19. I think you need to be on wacky backy to listen to all your lots crap
