  6. Busa ??? Build quality I like my hondas, just sold my CB1300-SA5
  7. First thing to check is where the harness crosses over the gearbox bell housing, if there's no rubbing through there undo the whole fuse carrier infront of the gear lever and leave it loose and see if it still does it, sometimes it get a bit cramps behind the fuses and wires can rub and touch
  8. I have a grass cutting contract which used to take me a really hard day for two men. I invested in equipment and have now got it down to 3 solid hours each cut. Price for the job not per hour
  9. I've worked out that at the rate you eating fuses that box of 2000 will last you 38 years Might end up having to split them
  10. I had a Blackbird and it was brilliant at speed, most I did was 165 mph and bottled it, I put a top box on with hardly any weight in and with that on if you took your hands of the bars it got a right wobble on, bricked myself first time. Did cadwell a couple of times on a cb600 now thats fun and a cracking stress reliever
  11. I hope you didnt do 144 with all that weight on, dont you get a bit of steering wobble with the weight so far back?
  12. That "might" be of interest, would have put em on here but they aren't really tree related pecontools items - Get great deals on Business, Office Industrial, Vehicle Parts Accessories items on eBay UK! Username pecontools if link doesnt work
  13. why would a member of the public have been iinjured I.m not a machine. I can turn on and off and stop working. Taping off 5 gardens of which you need permision to enter and time to get permission and setup is taking things a bit far. Awareness of your surroundings is the best safety device and thats why
  14. He's 91 ....he' got an excuse.... I went to london to see for myself and found the underground quite amusing I think the underground is a breeding den for ignorance and selfishness, infact to be fair, I reckon ANY inner city is full of ignorant selfish twerps north or south
  15. One thing I would do if I got another would be to fly-post all the commercail premises in my area. A Condition of most commercail insurances is that the premises have to have their guttering cleaned yearly. I got into it for a few months before the machine up ended Getting a few contracts like that would pay your HP Oh and outreach is most important
  16. If you are going to get a mewp to hire out, then it has to be one that is a bit specail. Standard Hire companies have the 15m mewps left right and centre, so you will have a lot of competition, if you go for a bigger tracked versions like my 18m they become complicated and without training no good to hire out without operator When I bought mine, the finance was £650 a month, I used it myself and got about two hires a month with operator at £350 a day (sounds expensive but remember they are not hiring just a mewp, they are hiring a trained climber and tree surgeon) which paid for the finance and I got free use of the machine. Be warned though, dont buy one if you have to rely on hire to finance the payments. You can earn the same money doing tree work without the complications and headaches of owning and hiring a mewp. They are expensive to maintain and repair so only buy new not second hand. If you want to hire without operator, go for the 15m machine from Promax in Barnsley, they are easy to setup but all the hire companys have them so hire rates are low but at least you dont have to be with it. You would have to ring up for insurance quotes buit make sure you tell them its for hire and for all types of use not just tree work

  20. Nice one...I'll remember that one Steve Last one I did I used the mewp leg
  21. They only sell barrier tape in abundance down south where people have no common sense and need guiding like sheep. Southerner in a city centre are like that arcade game there used to be where they carry on in the same direction till they hit the barrier tape then change direction, then remove the tape and they fall off the edge of something We dont need barrier tape up here, we just throw logs or spray chip at people normally and tell them not to be so stupid
  22. Tyres are dead easy to take off and on its breaking the bead that is hard.. All I do is lay the wheel and tyre flat on a board on the ground and drive the front wheel of the truck over the tyre going as close to the rim as possible, this normally pulls the tyre down off the rim. Dont do this on a good tyre btw
  23. The thought never even entered my head, I knew exactly what the thread was going to be
