  1. Cheers guys, I'll do some googling with those names
  2. Could someone recommend a trade supplier of Palisade fencing in the west yorkshire area
  3. Mums are no problem, it's the traumatised kids after seeing a liver and white spaniel bouncing up the windscreen and over the roof
  4. Did someone forget to shut the doors on your van when you stunt parked it David
  5. Totally agree Nick, people should be taught what happens if you go too fast round corners or that cars skid on ice ...and all new drivers should be sat down and shown a slide show of horrific accident aftermaths. When I was a pratt, I honestly thought I was an excellent driver and it never even entered into my head that if I crashed I could possibly kill someone We all speed, every single last one of us, it's to what degree we speed that needs sorting
  6. We have held about three meetings there before now, the wood is about 3.5 acres but half is on a slope and it has access rights through it to a scout camp, so on a weekend (especailly in the six week holiday) traffic through the wood is horrendous and they drive like loonies So I'm doing a land swap with the scouts for a plot half the size but flat on the other side of the track which can be totally fenced off and will have no speeding mummies traffic problem
  7. All speed does is make people die instead of getting injured. I used to think I was a great driver, everyone does, till I got in with a great driver on a track. Top and bottom of it is.. We have a responsibility for the safety of other road users as they have a responsibility toward you. We have no right to put their lives in danger by speeding even if it is where we judge it to be safe to speed, and who are we to decide whether it is or not. Long straight country road no bends, speed limit of 40 mph. WTF I hear you say, you could easy do 80 on here. You do 80, then all of a sudden a deer runs out infront of you, you hit it and end up careering into oncoming traffic who were doing 40mph killing all occupant of that vehicle, Mother, daughter and two children. An impact of a 90kg animal at 80mph will shove the front end of your vehicle in so far it would push the engine off it's mounts and underneath the car losing steering and all control An impact at 40 mph wouldn't We are not in control of all events however rare
  8. Its water voles that are suffering a decline because of mink
  9. I love the valley cloud in the panoramic Nick, we get that here when conditions are right. You would think france would be warmer than the uk in winter but last year when we had our cold spell, I flew off skiing and remember the south of england was free of snow but yet over the channel every single square foot of france nearly all the way down to Chamberry was covered in snow
  10. Mend quickly and dont try go back too early, it will only make the healing process twice as long
  11. I was going to go out and try shooting some monochrome yesterday, if ever there was any inspiration to do so it is right there in that link. Some stunning stuff there..thanks Tony
  12. Ha ha, I bet you feel a right tit if you dont mind me saying so
  13. No disrespect intended here Nick but that is wrong 1 in 4 deaths on british roads are a direct result of speeding I calmed down quite a while ago after my friend, who runs a large recovery firm on the A1 showed me his portfolio of accident recoveries which they use for training. It was that bad it shocked a serial offender into being a careful considerate driver ( as near as damb it anyway). I BTW have been banned three times and had more driving charges than you can list on an a4 sheet of paper including impersonating a police car, but none for speeding, I used to be a total tosspot
  14. Even though I'm getting shut of my wood I couldn't help going on the rampage today against bramble, I hate the stuff, it's a never ending battle. I went at it wth the tractor with the bucket just off the ground, picked up any deadwood and marked where old stumps were, then mulched it with the mower. Then added the deadwood to my existing deadwood habitat piles Dogs can now run around without getting ripped to pieces.
  15. Haaaa, so you should have a khealthy bank balance now then
  16. Wow!! Proper cameras I like the "white" lens too Did you have to risk divorce to buy those?
  17. Thanks...yes they are although I had it on manual focus and couldn't decide what to focus on I'll have to read up on Depth of Field Simon...Cracking spot there mate, lovely contrast of colours in the garden in their prime I bet
  18. Excellent news, now I hope we have a traffic cop on every road junction. The roads are chaos nowadays because everyone drives as they please with no consideration for anyone else, speeding is prolific as is dangerous driving. Back to the good old days of "Good morning Sir, do you know why I have pulled you over" Stonking, let's get some fines and bans handed out left right and centre, chuffed to bits
  19. To be honest they dont feel a lot different apart from when you put them on you have to put your feet through the leg hoops, unlike the 1 where you just just step into it. Bit rubbish if you are working in a doggy do area
  20. Yours is an absolutely stunning spot Dave, but I reckon you suffer a greenfly problem and need to get the 66 serviced for some action
  21. Do you have to wind it up Tony ? and has it been treated against woodworm ? What a cracking looking piece of equipment, what are the advantages of using that over a modern camera and is that turny knob bottom middle at the back the FL adjustment ?
  22. David Upper right in the distance is sheep pasture which I have shooting rights over and middle right is privately owned by some chavvy horsey types
  23. I've posted pics of the veiw from my house I know but sometimes you forget just what view you have because you see it every day. Four different views from around the house. It is Windy most of the time though, hence the house is called "Windy Ridge" thats the only downside
