  1. Alright Pat it'll be £235-00 + £10 = £245-00 + vat. But then 10% off so £220-50 + vat. I can put a web order up if you need.

  2. Hi there,

Yes I have them they are £65-00 + vat and postage (£7+vat).

Are they so you can use a double ended bar with one powerhead? The vibration you get through them is pretty big so I don't tend to advise having someone hanging on the end of one directly,

    Regards, Rob

  3. Hi Alex would be £172 + vat, cheers, Rob

  4. Mike a cannon 30" bar for your saw would be £160+vat... like I said unfortunately not cheap.

  5. Well done John. Yes please and e-mail me all your details to [email protected]

    That would be fantastico!

  6. Have you got any more details i.e. what saw model, what length bar you after, what pitch chain do you want to run?

I could get a price for a cannon bar but these are not cheap!

  7. I've got a 30" sachs dolmar solid nose bar. It's second hand. You can have for £25-00 + vat. Cheers, Rob

  8. No worrys Scott. It's good to be able to help out someone like yourself. Cheers, Rob

  9. Have left a message on your mobile Karl.

Yes am interested and I'll meet you there to have a look at 'em 07811611457

  10. one granberg and one stihl for each bar, no worrys let me know when you're ready

  11. Can do for £775-00 inc vat and delivery. For Stihl Bar with sprocket nose, 2x granberg chains, 2x stihl, oiler and 56" alaskan with bracing kit.

    Cheers, Rob

  12. No prob Lee but bear in mind I have never used a 84" bar yet only the 72" with the 880 so I can't say how well it will drive the chain.

  13. Price is £360-00 for bar inc vat. Chain would be Granberg £89.00, Oregon £66.73, Stihl £77.87.

72" mill and oiler kit £329.40

All the above inc vat and delivery free

  14. Yes that's 7' and no idea if the 084 would power it!

Prob suited more to an 090. Bear in mind with these longer bars you get quite a bit more bar 'droop' in the middle and they are a real handful to manipulate!

  15. Granberg ripping chain £61-92, Oregon £46-44, Stihl £54-18. All + vat.

This is for the 59" Stihl bar as I have no 72" bars left and won't be getting more for a while.

The only other bar I have is 84"!

  16. Typically I just sold my last 72" bar... trouble is they're really hard to get hold of as now I need to order 20 at a time and I only sell 5 or so a year so not sure if I'll be getting any more. I do have 59" Stihl roller nose bars though and also Cannon 60".

56" Alaskan (with bracing), oiler and Stihl 59" bar would be £575-00 inc vat and postage. This doesn't include ripping chain though....

  17. Yes I do Lee. It's £240-00 + vat to you (taking account of arbtalk discount), Rob

You may also want the oiler kit at £36-00 + vat as well.

  18. Aright Hodge, Hmmmm..... so tricky.... basically I have heard bad things about the 880 but worse things about the 3120.... neither are as good as they should be but I would get an 880. It's such a shame that there is no standout saw at this size.

Shocking really given the prices but there you go that's life!

  19. Yes I have Oregon skip link .404 ripping chain and also skip link square ground,

    cheers, rob

  20. Thanks for the heads up Mark. If it's very straight, no decay, no metal etc then I may be able to give you some money for it but it wouldn't be much i.e. between £100 and £200. If it's more an average sort of tree I can collect for free as long as it's by roadside but wouldn't be able to pay for it.... but if you want send some pics to [email protected] cheers, Rob

  21. No you can't unfortunetly... however I'm getting the new prototype frame for chainsaw milling (next week in fact!) that I'm helping to design. It'll be like the winch production frame Peterson mill but with a chainsaw! i.e the saw will swing from horozontal to vertical and you'll also be able to put a large alaskan in it. All height adjustments will be done on the frame....

Exciting stuff! But it'll be a while before I can put some pics up. As soon as I'm allowed I will!

  22. Hi Andrew, You can go up to a 30" bar with the Alaskan 24" mill. Your 044 will take a 25" bar max and would be the better saw of the two you have but a larger saw like a 660 or 880 would be even better. Have a look at alaskan mill I home of the portable chainsaw mill for more info, cheers, Rob

  23. Hi Mike,

Well you'll definately want an Alaskan 48" horozontal mill (£180-00) and if you're thinking of doing posts and beams you'll also want a vertical mini mill (£85-00) to go with a smaller saw.

I've tried all various ripping chains as follows is what I've found - full comp Oregon is a good all round slightly cheaper chain (£0.27 drive link), Oregon skip link chain is good for ripping softwood quickly but will leave a rougher finish (£0.30 drive link), Stihl ripping chain I've not tried but would say good but again rougher finish, Granberg is fast in all wood and leaves a smooth finish but is more expensive (£0.40 drive link),

    Cheers, Rob

  24. Sorry Ian but I had a falling out with Peterson re Skillmill. Did a large report on it when it first came out as they needed to put some basic issues right - 4 months later and I was still waiting. They have now discontinued production - I still bought one of thei bigger mills but they really messed me around with the Skillmill!!!

But have no fear and save some money cause there are some developments in the pipeline which I can say no more about at the moment... exciting developments!

  25. I'd say unless you have a special application in mind the mini mill (which cuts vertically) should be your second mill to a horozontal cutting mill (alaskan and small log mill).

    They fit onto all chainsaws.

Have a good look through my website alaskan mill I home of the portable chainsaw mill and also youtube YouTube - Mini and debarker.wmv and for more vids select 'more videos from alaskanmilluk' a button halfway up on the right.

The vids will show you all you need to know,

    Regards, Rob
