  16. Deer would have to be very hungry to do this. Larger species, Red,Sika, Fallow will do this if there is no other food! From the sound of the enviroment thee would be plenty of other food available. What species are in the area? I would suggest the damage is done by cattle or as Dean says horses or sheep.

  22. If you want a good working terrier with plenty of character try a Patterdale. Hard as nails! Work horses. Google Brian Nuttal or John Parkes in North Yorks. or the legendary Cyril Bray. If your after a good working border try Lisa Jenkins of Bristol. I got a good Border from her many years ago and I've had a dog from the John Parkes strain, highly recommended!
  23. It has already dropped two large limbs. its in the corner edge of a small wood which is used by lots of public. There is a great rip and the tree officer wants us to cut it back flush A couple of limbs have old cracks in the upper surfaces, some are 6 feet long! The plan is to reduce the weight and make safe! It is a perfect site for coro cuts but I don't think we will be doing them!
  24. Thanks Monkeyd, droplets and your confirmation mean my ID is getting better! Great tree though!
