  1. Who knows Rich might be related the police are calling me in the next couple of days with some details for my insurance, I'm going to find out more then if they are allowed to tell me. I have a few copper mates as well might try to find out from them.
  2. Had an eventful morning this morning. Got rudely awoken at 2 this morning with some serious noise of someone trying to get into our house. Jumped out of bed and looked out the window to see 2 guys in my garden. So, with a few choice words at the top of my voice and me 16 stone of naked man hanging out the window they try and kick down my back garden gate. Can't get through so decide climb it (if the ***** had turned the handle, they would have seen it was open anyway). There's me thinking I had scared them of with my hunk of nakedness and the wife panicking that someone had tried to get in the house with a new baby in residence, then all hell breaks loose. Within 10 seconds at least 6 police cars, armed response unit, dog vans & a helicopter above, I'm thinking maybe they weren't just chancer burglars. I run outside and let them know they have gone over the back into the next road (where my dad lives). The dogs were in my road having a good old sniff around then round the block and let loose in my old mans road. I had gone up to me dads to watch what was going on. It took about 10 mins and the dogs sniffed them out loads of shouting and dogs going mad. They would not come out so the dogs got sent in (that's got to hurt). The copper also told me they got tazered (didn't even know we used them over here). I spoke to one of the coppers once they had dragged them into the van and it had all calmed down. Turns out they had been running from the police for a while and had hijacked a car at knife point - don't know what they did before the hijacking but will try and find out when the police call. They had broken my side gate, back gate and window to my garage where we assume they where trying to get in to hide from the helicopter. We are a bit relieved, rightly or wrongly, that they wanted to hide and not chosen our house for a potential burglary, as it means they won't be back.

  13. Thanks Mick They were staked until 2 weeks ago I took the stakes out as I thought the ties where strangling the tree, do you you think I should still re-stake them but this time put the stakes in a lot deeper. The black lines is where the stakes were and there is 4 marks on each tree, could this be where the problem was:confused1:
  14. Just wondered if you guys can give me any advice on these trees. From what I can remember they are Red Robins but I'm no tree expert. I put them in about 3 years ago and last year they had good foliage and blocked out people from seeing in the house from the back. This year the don't have the same amount of foliage and the leaves are all dropping down and in generally look very sorry for themselves. Need some advice as to what to do, as I don't want to loose them:confused1:
  15. If you like the build quality of the Weaver have you tried one that's available over here.
