I would pretty much agree with all of that. Climbing isn’t a bother to me or my back. Years of dragging brash at awkward angles or lumping logs (that should have been cut in half) into trucks is what has largely contributed to an aching back. Bear in mind that I am 6’4” so it’s a long way down there and feels an even longer way to get back upright. We have a bit of a running g joke amongst the guys working. As we are getting older there are only so many “bendy downs and picky ups left” so be wise, work smart and don’t waste them 😜

50 years old here. Climb most days. Usually decent sized trees. This was yesterdays job, 2 guys but took just under 2 hours. I did the side you are looking at. I have ached most days for years now. Usually a combo of work and Martial Arts. I would love to sack in tree work but I guess I will just keep plodding on.

It was written in the Swedish rules for Axe throwing. The line has to be a set distance under their rules, it also allows a 2.5 rotation meaning the bit hits almost every time. That’s for a double bit. I need to rehang my double bit as the handle broke off just before I moved to Norway (coming up 8 years). I purchase a new handle, wedge and rings before I moved. When I got here couldn’t find my wrasp. Why put of doing something today when you can put off doing something tomorrow?

Electricity is pretty cheap here. Next to nothing in fact per Kw/h. He heats his yard with a combination of electric heater and the farm where the workshop is has biomass heating systems for most of the buildings. He is lucky as his best friend from childhood has the farm.

Only problem he has is he has too much of it. We have been sharing it around with the few companies we work with. He has so much now he is selling it by the 100l load to local firewood processors.

I haven’t bought chain oil for about 4 years. The local kebab shop has high end rapeseed oil. He gives it away to a mate of mine who I work with. He triple filters it and then siphons it off into cans. Works really well and isn’t too thick to hamper the filling process here in the Norwegian winter. It also doesn’t run into water consistency in the hot summer days. Saws don’t get too gunked up and haven’t had a problem oiling in the years I have been using it.

Horse Chestnut Re Reduction. Back to previous points. We didn’t reduce it previously. also raised the canopy and cut back over roof and lights on the RHS. Basically to stop smack heads from using the play area as a shooting gallery by making it more visible to the residents.

The South Circular does exist. It is officially known as the A205. Locals have always called it the South Circular. I guess Google also must have been from South London.

I remember about 20 years ago got pulled in the South Circular driving a VW tipper truck. Greedy boards, packed to the top with wood chip then ton bags with rakings and ladders ratchet strapped to the top. Wood chip flowing everywhere, They did us for an indicator out on the chipper. Made us detach the chipper and wait for the boss to turn up with a bulb change and we weee free to go. I don’t recall getting a fine and I definitely didn’t get any points. Very lucky really.
