  1. He would have been better with boots with protection in them not just a steel toecap.
  2. It was clear of the butt before it started swinging.
  3. So if the climber asks the groundie to let it run and the groundie doesn't, its still the climbers fault???
  4. Great video!! Its been posted before, but I can't remember where, its nice to have it posted by the guy using the saw
  5. With the tree wrapped its easy to see that there is a row of branches at the very base.
  6. Yes, I just pinched myself, I'm defiantly real
  7. Indeed, but not if you have chopped lumps off the product. Also he did want his money back he just wanted some of his money back. How do we feel when we have completed the agreed work and then the customer tries to knock down the price?? If he did not like the tree why buy it?? If he was unhappy with his wife's purchase, he could have taken it back, without fuss and without having damaged it.
  8. Because he put they other guy in a impossible position, he has to either give him the £10 or take back a damaged tree and have an unpleasant seen in front off customers. That in my book is extortion, also known as theft.
  9. I guess its speeded up a bit!! I had to stop watching, as I have had a large meal and a few glasses of rose and I was starting to feel a wee bit ill.
  10. The poor guy He's just trying to do his job, you saw the tree (or at least your wife did) if you did not like it why buy it??? How could you ask for your money back after you had cut branches off it?? I'm so glad your not one of my customers Sounds to me like you basically stole £10 off them.
  11. I'm sure the trees could now be micros chipper (much like a pet) that would enable you to prove they are yours.
  12. I don't think there is a "refresher course", but doing any of the new units is classed as a refresher, as they all cover the safety aspects of what we do, obviously one that covers climbing would probably be more appropriate My tickets are from 1996, I've had them queried a few times, but up to now they have always accepted that as tree work is all I do its not like I'm likely to wake up one morning having forgotten how to do it
  13. I often wonder how many accidents happen because people are being filmed??? Would he have gone so big without the camera being there??, was it his first time going so big because the camera was there???
  14. Just watched it again, there are not too many wraps, the groundie starts dropping it no problem, but after its hit the climber twice.
  15. Even with too many wraps a good rope man would have had that dropping with a good flick, IMO.
  16. What if he had asked the groundie to let it run, the groundie says "no problem" Is it still the climbers fault??? Also should a good groundie not be looking out for any error the climber makes, as often the groundie is the only one in a position to do anything after the error has been made.
  17. How did they know who had your trees???
  18. Nice one Steve and all the kind contributors!! Its really starting to feel like Christmas now!!!
  19. Really So the groundie sees it heading for the climber and does not let it run??? What he thinks thats what the climber wanted
  20. He maybe did not make it in the best way, but I think he was trying to make it in a jokey fashion. When people post it important that their post can be understood, the first reply was just trying to understand the question.
