  1. Before we all praise these pulley friction savers they still get stuck sometimes. And in these times I'm thinking why I'm i not using SRT.

  8. I usually just put a new chain and it lasts for ages. I've got four chains that needs to be sharpened sometime. I find it very difficult to sharpen. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  10. Maybe the people who can't or won't sharpen their chains should sell or donate them onto the people who can.
  11. What do you mean three chains for one file , if a one chain is badly damaged after sharpening the file will be finished. Files don't last very long. Self sharpening should be one of the many skills. Obviously. It's like a butcher who can't sharpen his knife. Between a well sharpened chain and not , could mean a one hour time difference in a days work. Time is money.
  12. Most people will self sharpen , the cost of a new chain is very much more than a single file. But if you can't or won't sharpen than a sharpening service or a new chain are options . From my experience a half worn chain cuts at its fastest. mind you I do like a new chain ( Stihl PM3 ) on my Stihl 150T.
  13. Maybe sharpening , oh sorry that's another thread. Use a block of wood or a hammer to nock the hook into solid wood.
