If you ended up infront of some one whareing a wig with anouther wiged person asking you questions... when lest say you had just turn Mrs M car in to a soft top cos the rigging rope went ping and you did not have CS 41 to prove you new what you were dowing lets say... you might all change you minds... PS read small print in you insurance docs they might not cover you as well... Could work if you caused a hazard fro poor prunning distions and cuts... never been test in court thou but if its brown and sticky it sticks in this game.
  3. I have similar with willow, had the tree been under signifcant wind or group preasure for light... this is when I have noice this more.. It can also be found on heavy limbs but gravatie gets in the way, you will only spot it when step cutting hand held sections back where the tree has put on reacion wood to cope with the loading. Consult Clause Mattheck's Stupsi and Pauli for more info.. he has also got a new book out but have yet to get my sapeie figures on it yet.

  5. Dagmar and All Total Arb is now much improved since Andy Cowen of Arbocoligy fame has taken the post of editor, artical quality has gone up, less or an advertorial... The treenews Mag from the tree council is great proper coffee table sunday read... all in all the isa have a good package, well worth being a full member for the intenationl stuff and book discounts, the ISA book are easy reading and more text book like. If you want to further you arb knowlege with out going to college the ISA cert scheem is great and with the CPD scheem you can prove you are always updateing skills and knowelge if ever the HSE came knocking or worse still a person in a grey wig stated asking questions. As for the saw they are a good mid range pro saw... not quite the best but have got a shed load neara the mark over the last three years or so.

  8. Horse for courses just tools in the box, it all to do with what you are doing, oh and how well you understand power rating bar chain combo etc. No point floging a shire horse round when a pit pony will do just fine. Ps will never sell my 254xp....
