  1. I have all the bits of wood.... you can have one in kit form
  2. I got a load of the 700 rock teeth from a dealer in texas 18months ago, I found the 700 teeth weak in comparison to the 1100, a sandvik wheel may be a safer option if you can afford the initial expense. In the long run I don't think that they are any more cost effective than finger teeth on smaller grinders. What grinder are you running them on?
  3. Thanks for the replys guys, really pleased with how it's turned out and now its being used it's even better. Taken me years to get round to doing it, wish I'd done it sooner. Next project is floorboards.
  4. Lots of time, Lots of money, thats what your going to need.....
  5. After spending many years looking at and fondling bits of timber I finally got round to making something out of some of it. Kitchen table, top is the middle from old beech tree, legs and sides from some beech I pulled out of the sawn timber pile, some spalted as you can see. Would like to do some more of this sort of stuff when I get some spare time .......
  6. Works well, good for big stumps. Only trouble is having a tractor stuck to it all the time....
  7. I had a similar incident a few months back. This chap used foul and abusive language in front of my 9 year old daughter and I asked him to button it, firmly and politely, he didn't so I walked away but called him an ignorant prat (mistake). He then tried to plant one on me which you could see coming, so I grabbed him by the neck and was thinking about putting him out of his misery. My daughter burst into tears and his missus who had tried to calm the idiot down told me to leave him alone he is 75 you know. I was totally stunned, let him go and walked off carrying my girl. What the hell made him behave like that??? It left me more than a little shocked. If I'd wacked him which is what he deserved where would that have ended up..........The whole thing made me mad as hell. The guy only looked 55/60. I have always had respect for my elders, not his one. I can totally understand how you feel Dean.
  8. probably easier if you let me know what sort of stuff your after, and sizes and I'll let you know a price. Pm me and I'll come back to you. We have got bits of most things at the mo, hence the need to have a clear out.
  9. Yes just about, was going to scrap it in next 2 weeks to make room to display the timber. If your interested we could have a deal.
  10. I will sell you it all if you like Bob
  11. Cheers Giles, I saw them at Weird and Wonderful wood, done some good stuff
  12. We have for some years now been operating two sawmills, a mobile and a static one. We have now built up a large stock of sawn timber and in order to make room for new stock we will be holding our first wood sale on August 27th and 28th 2010. All of our timber is locally sourced from within East Anglia with the majority from the Suffolk Area, most of it as a result from our work. On offer will be many different species of wood in all manner of sizes from 500x500mm beams to smaller sizes suitable for woodturning blanks. We also hold a large stock of timber in the round ready for milling. Larger sizes can be cut to your requirements. There will be over 2000cu/ft of timber on sale. Some of it has been cut now for 4/5 years and there is some nice timber up for grabs. The sale will be held at our Woodyard which is in Suffolk. Not sure if anybody on here will be interested or uses timber but the more people that know the better If you would like to come along please PM me for details and directions. Here is some of it.
  13. Quoted to remove a big Cedar today and leaving a 10ft butt for a sculpture/carving was discussed. Don't really know the costs involved or who does it in Suffolk. I know there is one group but it would be usefull to know a little more info etc about what can be done and costs as tis always an option to present to clients rather than total removal/stump grind.
  14. Just donated, sent you a PM Jonesie
  15. Same thing on one of the roads out of our village, people in the village bustop taking notes?? Saw a van changing a box on a camera, said NDS ( National Data Services) on the side. I thought they were trying to cut back on waste of time public sector jobs......
  16. This is all going to an auction in Suffolk on Saturday, when I took it down the road I nearly changed my mind and turned back (Still not convinced I want to sell it:confused1:) but it's there now. It's a farm sale and there is other stuff, mostly Agri, there as well. Details are here if anyone if interested. Peter Crichton - DOWNLOAD AUCTION CATALOGUES
  17. Bit the bullet and the tractor, timber grab and bulk chip trailer are going to an auction on Saturday. Will miss the big kit but gotta go as not using it enough. Auction is in Suffolk and if anybody wants details let me know and I'll forward them to you. Had the forwarding trailer for 20years and have moved 100's of tons of timber with it, not happy to see it going:sad: but need to move on.
  18. I might be removing some very large poplar trees, I reckon around 80/90 ton of timber will come from it. Are they of value to anyone for firewood and if so how much? Location is near Sudbury in Suffolk.
