Had them converted on both Navara's I had and also on LDV's with transit running gear and had no problems.

I am looking for an operative with at least CS30/31 to work as part of a team. Must have clean driving licence and own transport to work. Any other qualifications are an advantage. We are a busy company with many varied contracts. Bump! Still looking. Had a few replies, but would like more to be able to make a decision. I really need somebody who has at least 2 years experience and those qualifications mentioned in my first post as a minimum. Additional qualifications or experience will be of mutual benefit. This is a good opportunity take on a senior role or to progress to that position within my company with good long term career prospects. I am offering in the region of £100 a day for the right person.

We are a small AA approved company based in Suffolk, established for 25 years. We have a broad client base of established customers and some interesting and varied work. We are looking for a team leader/climbing arborist who has at least 2 years experience and is qualified to a minimum of CS 30/31 and 38/39 and holds a full UK driving licence preferably with B+E or C1+E. A formal qualification in arboriculture and CS40 and 41 will be an advantage. The ideal candidates should be self motivated, hard-working and be able to work as part of a team to deliver arboricultural works to high standards. That is what I thought and I must admit I was a bit apprehensive when the final cut was being made as it was seeming pretty solid until we got round the back end and then the soft stuff began.......pretty much mirrors the Picus. I think just an old association, The base of the tree has had hypericum growing around it 4/5m for years so it was only by chance the bracket was seen this year. Not much reaction growth on the buttress roots either.

Ganoderma applanatum although it was only relatively small and quite an old bracket very low down. To look at it you would not have thought the decay quite so bad. There were however 2 smaller new fresh brackets developing in between 2 of the buttresses. The Resistograph confirmed the extent of the decay. Shame really as we have taken down too many big beech trees over recent years, mostly because of Merrip though.

We stopped using Aspen for a number of reasons as follows. One was that one of my workers complained it gave him headaches, only 1 out of 8 at the time but using normal 2 stroke mix no one had any issues. I also had more minor running issues with the saws and they did not seem to perform as well. Price is a big issue. Also the disposal of the cans. I have to question the environmental impact/footprint of manufacturing thousands of cans, their distribution and then their disposal.

Since last posting on this thread I have been doing my own reasearch into the disposal of the plastic cans. I cannot find anyone who will re-cycle them for nothing. I have been quoted £30 for a small car boot full or car derived van. Or I can dispose of a ton of them for £96 but that is the minimum charge. I am really not sure about burning them, I somehow think that if I was to do that the Environment Agency would have something to say. So for me the disposal of or what to do with the cans when empty remain one issue. Another issue that has come to light is that I am informed that if you use this in a Stihl product it will void the warranty.

Thanks for the reply Gardenkit. I will look into plastic can recycling in our area to see if they will take them. Can the cans not be re-used, the packaging/manufacture no doubt adds to the cost? Also the manufacture of 1000's of plastic cans must have a fair environmental impact, even if recyclable?

A question for Aspen. Is there a recommended way of disposing of the 5ltr plastic containers once you have used the fuel in them? The amount of fuel we use we would have around 300/350 cans to dispose of every year. A lot of plastic cans.......... You say they are recyclable on your website, how are they recyclable and is there a cost to recycle them?
