  1. haha. paying vat up isnt a biggie, just time it so you buy right at the end of the quarter then you get it right back!
  2. we talking about arbtalk or eds link? haha
  3. honey brothers are one of the main arb suppliers in the UK and also a sponsor here...sound company.
  4. so if you arent vat registered dean, how much vat did you have to pay out when you bought your mewp?
  5. indeed, ive read that over and over and can make no sense of it whatsoever...can you explain that some more?
  6. ahhh well thats life im not too worried,...seems all cut and dry to me, i charge vat and subsequently pay the vatman, then i claim for my vat on all business expenses......im a little thick, but i think i'll about cope with that!
  7. rupe, all my bookwork is done on quickbooks...nothing i do from now on will be any different, everytime i enter an invoice or receipt it will register the vat, and each quarter i simply click on "make vat return" job done.
  8. the 17.5% wont transform to the customer...its a totally irrelevant figure as i will be getting it back anyway. yes i shall charge 5% on wood, i dont charge for delivery..at least not advertised anyway
  9. i dunno mate, i think you're kinda missing the point.....at the moment you are paying vat that you could get away without paying......the vat income that you would have to pay if you were registered really isnt even yours in the first place. now i havent done the maths yet, but about this time last year i checked on an average month and i was paying out £300 in vat...thats money down the drain IMO
  10. good point.....im adjusting my firewood prices accordingly, i shant be quoting it plus vat
  11. the only part of that that makes any sense to me is the part about customers not liking it!
  12. rupe...i really dont see what hassle there will be...i dont have any more paperwork to do than i have now.....all my customers are vat registered, it just isnt a problem that i can see.
  13. yes tom, all in all it will amount to a good bit hopefully. and rupe, i disagree about not being better off. last month i had a pretty average month, didnt spend out on anything too much but still spent a good sum on vat.....thats money that i wont be spending from now on....as for the vat coming in, thats 17.5% of someone elses money i can earn interest on for a short while.
  14. its no burden at all oliver....i have very few domestic customers, nor particularly want any, and there will be zero extra bookwork to do. quids in all round from where im sitting.
  15. yes just gone mate....and i think you're wrong regards the refund, ive heard from several people they had refunds. plus the letter i had with my registration number said "it is particularly important that your bank details are accurate as they will be used to make any repayment of tax that may be due to you" i hope you're wrong mate cos i just booked a trip to disneyland haha
  16. could someone please tell me, how long after filing a vat return can i expect my vat refund?
  17. whats the nearest town to the apf, and is there much there in the way or restauraunts and pubs?
