  1. if they're already "ruined" can i lend them out?
  2. i love meindl. i have the waldlaffer<sp?> the climbers, and now the air streams. the walds i had resoled after a year and they are still a nice comfy boot, the leather is all holding up well. the climbers, i personally found a little uncomfortable in tight crotches, and also for standing on ladders....i guess the sole was either very thin or very soft in the centre and the rungs would really dig in. they lasted ok though all the same. ive had the air streams for a month now and they were super comfy straight out of the box. the sole feels pretty grippy for general limb walking, and they do feel very comfy in spikes. cant fault them in any way to be honest, just need to find out if they last long enough to justify the price tag!
  3. cerne....so you did tree climbing at college but didnt learn any aerial rescue techniques?? aerial rescue is a pre-requisite for climbing assessments, i would have naturally assumed this would be the case for training also! can anyone from any other colleges confirm that for me please?
  4. a good reason for not using pull ropes. get up to the tip and knock it out in a pieces you can comfortably handle......sounds like you were in a very bad situation there which you were clearly not experienced enough for....you got lucky!
  5. what he said Gayn. when the site first started the moderators were silent, deleting spam, general rudeness etc and helping keep the place tidy.......the site has grown considerably since then and i felt(along with the moderators) that it was necessary for people to know who to go to when in need of help etc.
  6. Apologies everyone but due to some poor planning on my part it would appear the close of the competition has coincided with the head judges holiday so there will be a longer than expected delay for the results, will keep you all posted
  7. i was under the impression this was for safety reasons?
  8. dont blame ya mate...buy anything you can!!! not much beech and oak to the ton though thats the only problem with that stuff!
  9. not a problem mate, we have a good relationship with tom and mark here
  10. the originals had the old type straps, mine have. not sure how you'd go about changing them though sorry
  11. sweet chestnut spits extremely badly....dont sell it to anyone with an open fire whatever you do! on the plus side when very dry it burns well and produces very little ash
  12. if memory serves me right they were going for £330inc at capel 2 years ago
  13. thats a more realistic offering. you aint getting no ms200t for £325inc thats for sure!
  14. i think they are great for certain applications....plus the plastic cover keeps everything in place. im not so sure why it cant be classed as a 3 way action krab with opening the cover being 1 action.
  15. nice use of the hitch climbers there mark!
  16. this is the safest krab on the market IMO http://www.mtntools.com/cat/rclimb/biners/dmmbelaymaster.html
  17. then i think you need to think about replacing your employees rather than skimping on saws
  18. problem is, once you've been spoilt with a 200t anything else is very fustrating to use. i've used several small saws such as this in the past for one reason or another and would certainly never want to use one unless i had to. it just dont feel right!
  19. guy near me stocks them. i personally wouldnt buy one, but i can see there would be a market for them for sure.
  20. just a customer i did a job for the other week, i noticed on her cheque her name was listed as such....i've heard it mentioned in the house of commons as skyhuck said.
  21. can anyone tell me what this title signifies?
