    Well i just went and bought 80ton of scots pine. Not an ideal situation but i think come jan/feb people will take whatever is available. im pretty much sold out of hardwood and its already been a record year even with another 5 months of selling to go. ths past week i have had close to a dozen calls from people whose usual suppliers have sold out..quite a desperate situation. is anyone else resorting to selling softwood?

    are you using a long enough strop dean? footlocking with a strop is no different...if set right you just ignore it and just slide your hands up the rope, the hitch will advance as a matter of course

    try and keep your overheads as low as possible for starters, if you're charging right you should only need worry about finding 3 days a week at first.

    i had a guy the other day make a similar comment when i gave him the prices.....i didnt say a word and just hung up the phone. firewood is in drastically short supply this year, im almost wishing what little wood i have/had i had saved for january!
