  1. Yea making it a paid site would make a difference. If I had to pick from 2 sites the same distance from me; the one offering a bottle of wine would win every time
  2. Get yourself listed here https://arbtalk.co.uk/find-a-freelancer/
  3. An overly thick step cut can do just as good a job if not better for standing limbs upright. Never used a GRCS but would often use that method fro crane pics
  4. People will blame their vaccine side effects on anything these days 😁
  5. Thats going to be a potential weak point in a tree species thats prone to failure already. You could reduce is to make safe, and then keep re-reducing it every few years to keep on top of it, but ultimately all you're every going to be left with is a pretty crap looking tree. I'd fell it and be done with.
  6. I can’t imagine that tree has a tpo, it will just be within the conservation area. A simple email showing the video should be ample. Just save a photo of the uprooted trunk

  8. Anyone here make these or have a link for anyone that does? Looking for something of a nicer quality that i'm seeing elsewhere.

  10. Id go with Elm too. If you have the date of the painting it could potentially rule Elm out though
  11. I dunno, I saw the video of that, the water was already in the buildings, and as far as I understood it he was on his way to rescue someone?
  12. Not sure if this counts as pottering. Bit out of my skill set so I enlisted some help. Filling, prepping and painting is down to me though
  13. So annoying when that happens!

  19. It’s not a normal week to be fair, only selling more of the larger items as Christmas is coming. The baby shop is the missus’s little business that we opened during lockdown; slowly growing it bit by bit though
  20. Selling items online that you don't stock, then having them shipped straight from the manufacturer/distributor. We do it for the bigger things on our website. For example we've sold 4 £200 toy kitchens the past week. We make £60 on each one yet will never touch or even see the product. I just have to ping an email and payment to the supplier as and when the items ordered. Im happy to do that all day long for £60 a pop!!!
  21. Supporting the rapid growth and expansion of the Sussex Tree Specialists, an STS Arboricultural Group Company, is a trio of woodchippers from GreenMech. Proud to be backing sustainable British-made products, Chief Operating Officer Darren Regan explains that the pair of EVO 165D’s and an EVO 205 SAFE-Trak are ticking the boxes for performance, safety and outstanding back up support. Darren, who worked for one of the world's largest stockbrokers for over three decades, is now applying his extensive experience in leading technology and compliance service operations to the arboriculture sector. He has teamed up with Matt Bell, the founder of Sussex Tree Specialists, to build on the fantastic business foundation Matt has already established. "Now we're looking at how we can play our role in supporting diverse and productive woodlands, helping others within the sector, and expanding our offering," Darren explains. "To do that, we need the right people and the right equipment to keep us at the forefront of our industry." With an ever-increasing order book from commercial customers including local authorities, highways, schools and housing associations, the group invested in the EVO 205 SAFE-Trak, delivered by dealers GA Groundcare Ltd in April 2024. “Our previous chipper was forever breaking down and the EVO 205 presented itself as more capable and in-line with what we were trying to deliver. It is constructed with quality components and materials giving us not only reliable chipping performance in the field, but also – as a British manufacturer - the peace of mind that parts and support is available locally should we ever need it.” “Even more importantly, this machine excels when it comes to health and safety” he adds. The EVO 205D SAFE-Trak is fitted with GreenMech’s award-winning track-based system, allowing ground clearance of up to 530mm and offering unbeatable safety when traversing slopes or challenging terrain. “They’ve listened to the industry and know exactly what’s needed. GreenMech clearly have the same appetite for safety as we do, the machine is packed with features.” “Delivered in August 2024, our pair of EVO 165D’s give us all of this assurance in a smaller package – ideal for smaller commercial jobs and the wealth of domestic work we still undertake” he adds. “We have big ambitions for the Sussex Tree Specialists and the wider STS Group of companies, and with these machines on our fleet we feel we’ve made a big step in the right direction. We have also gained the support of some great people in the form of GreenMech and GA Groundcare Ltd into our network who will all undoubtedly help us as we move onwards and upwards!”
