  1. Hi Hector, No experience with the new Ducato but did drive them years ago. They were mostly hassle free. The only thing that would really put me off for this trade is it being front wheel drive
  2. You need to stockpile it and then get something like this in for the day Biomass Shredder Hire | High Speed Shredding | Kingwell Hire KINGWELLHIRE.CO.UK Biomass shredder hire machines, available on daily and week hire. Capable of shredding up to 2m... as we as mentioned above though, if it’s treated that may change things. I suspect a lot of it would be. The company in the link would be able to advise you on that I’m sure
  3. One for the album mate
  4. Went to Norwich shopping today. Had zero plans to do so except for waking up to my Auntie posting congratulations to my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. There was supposed to be a party but with everything thats gone on this year it obviously didnt take place and was kinda forgotten about. Thats my excuse and im sticking to it 😳 Anyway, if Christmas shopping doesn't spread the virus, (regardless of how bad you think it is) then nothing will. Norwich was rammed, with zero chance of any social distancing. We stopped at a restaurant for something to eat. It was one of those ones with an open kitchen, similar to what you'd find in Frankie and Bennys. 7 or 8 staff in a pretty small kitchen, impossible to social distance, and none of them wearing masks. Not sure what the deal is there, if they are exempt for some reason? Will be interesting to see if cases rise in the next few weeks. From what I saw today I can't see how they wouldn't spike considerably!
  5. Yes, depending on what your set up is. I think the only real difference is a loop on the harness for attaching a chest harness to.
  6. Fastest it’s ever been!
  7. My accountants fees are directly tied to how much of a pain in the arse I am. Last year it was £1200, the year before it was £600. Not looking forward to this years bill!
  8. All done, a bit better planned this time and a healthy overdose of steroids have been injected

  11. In such a turbulent year, for Roy Brown of R M Brown Tree Services, when it came to purchasing a new woodchipper there was no better time to stick with what he knows and trusts – exchanging his existing Arborist 130 machine for a brand new Arborist 130 from GreenMech! The Perthshire-based business have been using GreenMech machines for 10 years, with the newest model proving to be a real ‘pocket rocket’. Undertaking both surveying and tree-surgery work for a range of commercial and domestic customers, including in the utilities sector, versatility is a must for Roy when it comes to his equipment. “Every day is different and every job has its own unique requirements and challenges so our woodchipper needs to be the right size to navigate residential areas, for example, but man enough to deal with whatever material we need to put through it.” “The Arborist 130 is a real pocket rocket – it’s the ideal size for us and handles 95% of our tree surgery jobs. With the popularity of log burners, it’s rare these days to be chipping anything much larger than 3 or 4”, but with this machine capable of processing timber up to 6” we’ve got the capacity to chip all sizes and varieties of woody waste and brash.” Roy exchanged machines like-for-like, in October 2020 through his local dealer Gammies Groundcare, and, having already put the new unit through its paces, has been impressed with the powerful performance. “The GreenMech machines have always proven themselves to be solidly built and well-engineered, with the disc-blades delivering clean, precise chipping. The Arborist 130 has fantastic pull through, the twin vertical hydraulic rollers take in the material really well reducing the amount of preparation work we need to do.” Roy adds, “As important as the machine itself is the back-up support and technical advice, which from both GreenMech and Gammies has been excellent. With COVID creating challenges for the delivery of the new unit, Gammies really went the extra mile in supplying us with a loan machine when we needed it which really helped to minimise disruption and reaffirms why, when it comes to upgrading equipment, we go back to GreenMech every time.”
  12. Actually, not sure if it is job done! You might end up getting a bill from the vat man if you have gone over the threshold already in November. Not 100% how it works to be honest...not even 50% to be even more honest.
  13. Just ask them if you can backdate the invoice, job done
  14. When I was a sole trader I would just dig in to it as I needed it. Now I am limited I pay myself a monthly pay, this can vary, Someone above said that that as a limited company you can't help yourself to money like a sole trader. This isn't strictly true, just takes a bit more work for the accountant at the end of the year. Limited or not, it makes better sense to pay yourself a monthly salary, It will make you more disiplined with your money for one thing. As for how much? That all depends how much you're earning, how much you need to live on a month.
  15. Never is, just kinda happened. And the colour pink certainly wasn't my choice either
  16. ECHO has introduced two rear handle chainsaws designed for easy starting. Both are lightweight, versatile and packed with features that enhance operator comfort and convenience. The ergonomic design ensures manoeuvrability and precision, making them ideal for pruning and cutting firewood. The ECHO CS-3510AC is built for casual users and farmers looking for a reliable all-round saw to get through work quickly. Equally, it will suit the keen gardener who needs a chainsaw for infrequent tasks or is new to using one. The saw features an auto choke with a solenoid valve at the carburettor. This controls the amount of fuel needed, depending on the engine’s temperature, for optimal performance. There are several benefits to this. Firstly, there is no choke lever. The engine start is simply a primary pump and recoil action for faster starting. With the automated system controlling the fuel supply, there is no risk of carburettor flooding. The premium 34.4cc engine is manufactured in Japan to the highest standards for increased performance, extended product life and less downtime. Combined with the light weight of just 3.8kg and compact design it helps reduce operator fatigue, offers longer use and maximum power. The CS-3510ES is equipped with ECHO's patented ES Start for easy starting every time. A professional-grade 34.4cc engine and dry weight of just 3.7kg give you a saw that gets to work fast and powers through tasks. It is built specifically for versatility and ease of use. The anti-vibration system minimises vibration levels to give excellent manoeuvrability, operator comfort and precision when cutting. There is a momentary switch for a quick and easy engine restart, side-access chain tensioner for quick chain adjustment and an automatic clutch-drive oiler to lubricate the chain. A transparent fuel tank provides easy level checks and there is G-Force Engine Air Pre-Cleaner, to reduce engine exposure to dirt and debris, for less maintenance and longer life. Lightweight construction and ECHO Easy Start technology make the CS-3510ES a great choice for domestic use and on the smallholding or farm. Both chainsaws come with a 2-year commercial or 5-year domestic warranty. Find out more from your local authorised ECHO dealer. You can also visit www.echo-tools.co.uk or call 01844 278800 for more information.
  17. We were supposed to be putting it up today but ended up painting the living room instead...don't ask. Tomorrows the day for us.
  18. Theres brokers out there that know the game when it comes to limited companies Rich, and will look at your business income rather than take home pay, at least that what my Mortgage advisor told me. I took out my mortgage just before going limited so it wasn't an issue at the time.
  19. Depends on your business set up how long you've been trading etc. I'm now a limited company so can take a small salary £8k a year then take the remainder in dividend from the business profits. As a Ltd I cant help myself to money in the same way a sole trader can. If you are sole trader you can take as much as you like, but make sure you leave enough to pay you tax and NI and pre paid tax at the end of the year! Why 8k and not the full 11k allowance or whatever it is now?
  20. This guys not far from you https://sawmillers.co.uk/sawmill/guy-jones-forestry/ edit: there is no pun intended here
  21. Yep, sorry but I made a cock up and its kinda flittering between the 2 servers at the moment, should resolve soon. THIS is the correct server.
  22. all will be well by the morning
  23. The forum will be closed this evening from 10pm whilst we carry out a vital server migration. We aim to have this done as quickly as possible but theres a lot of work to do so it may take up to 24 hours.
