  1. Huge question in a small package. If you reduce it further you have to either pin your hopes on the strangest of things, either a universe that pops into existence from nothing with no way of us understanding why or a universe that pops into existence from nothing by way of an uncreated creator? Neither can be proven and are just taken on by faith.
  2. Not really, I know a few too, a GP, a professor in astrophysics, a doctor in palliative care, and one who has done a lot in IT , systems analyst, software testing/security and other stuff I don't understand. What is odd is believing having a deep seated faith excludes people from critical thinking 🤔
  3. Any news?
  4. Shouldn't be shooting, full F stop! It's a heart shot not chest shot! 2" low and you will have a runner that will go a long distance 2" to the rear the same! 2"....2" how far away are you shooting? Or you miss way over the top! Now lets talk about reds, a bit different to roe, or muntjac (never shot one but hold on!), etc. Big heads small heads? So does the 2" work for them? How about a big red stag on the rut? This time of year we had the full Jurassic park with the stags roaring at the top of their lungs telling the young guns to keep away and calling in the hinds. I've hit them square through the heart and seen them drop like a stone. Get up minutes later and walk towards them and they can get up and run 00's of metres... average dog 😆 gi yersel peace ya whallaper! Yeah why did you even try? Get a room you guys. You wouldn't know a fact if it walked up to you and shook hands and introduced itself. Waddaya want, pics of dead deer? See above. Like I said, over the years 2 headshots on deer, the other xxx were heart, a few (4 iirc) runners, non lost. It's not prowess it's cutting out the variables, hand loads, range time, range finders, sound mods, high seats, hours watching deer, knowledge of the ground, weather watching, ballistics, follow through, trigger sear, parallax error, etc etc "Gunshot wound, ballistic and medical experts on an arb forum. Who would have thought it. Not one of which I’d imagine has ever had the chance to hear the buzz or crack of a bullet pass by at close range." You're the one that started the whole thing and when confronted with a different opinion you go back to abuse and diversion, just try and understand that there may be an opinion different from yours. I've heard bullets pass by and even land close by, but you don't seem to want to admit that you could be wrong.
  5. Possibly, but it shows that you know nothing about deer control apart from a quick troll across the Internet to find something to confirm your bias. You bring nothing, and when confronted by facts that contradict you all you do is divert in one way or another because you've been rumbled.
  6. Not ear wounds. Over 20 years of deer control and culling I have taken 2 headshots for welfare reasons, the one quoted was a bag of bones I spotted with a severe limp and stalked up to just under 80m iirc, she had laid down in a hollow and there was a barbed topped wire fence between us. I could have walked around 4-600m to get a better shot but I would have been winded by her or I might have bumped another deer on the way, I dialled in for 80 or whatever the rangefinder said and as there was an inch of crown showing I thought that it was on. Unfortunately the shot went right of the aim point, possibly it touched a grass stalk, and put a neat hole through her lug, and the only blood was a splash where she was and no trace along the trail she ran. I got her in exactly the same place a few days later in the same circumstances but this time I dropped her and that's how I knew I'd hit her lug, her teeth were worn flat to the gums/jawbone and was literally a bag of bones and wasn't lardered just left out for hoodies etc close to a high seat to entice a fox onto it. I've shot hoodies out beyond 200 and punched paper at Bisley and other ranges out to 500, at 100 I'm happy to say I will cloverleaf using my home loads and BT's. Finally I'm not au fait with American white tail deer but I do know my shot placement on Roe, fallow and red.
  7. Brace of perdix for Christmas lunch... only surpassed by a brace of woodcock or teal.
  8. Content may trigger those of a right hand tendency, apologies. Rainbow toast!!!
  9. Shouldn't be, November is the start on most but late January and early February is better and cheaper
  10. Again a generalisation, I have. Second part is not really correct as I have clipped ears of deer with. 22 cf and larger and apart from a splash the holes seem to bleed little after the hit, certainly less than DJT did but I wasn't there, but if I was I would suggest I could have an interesting, or one of a kind, mount on the wall in the lounge.
  11. A couple of things, "the left" what does that mean? You mention "assault rifles" or "semi automatic guns" as per screen grab, the assault rifles are unlawful here in the UK and legally OK in the USA (generalisation) so is that a question for the USA arbs who visit here or a question on guns in general. I've owned several semi automatic "guns" (shotguns) and handled/used many sa rifles which were to all intents "assault" rifles so as far as I recall you are supposed to have been a pongo I would have thought that you would have seen that?
  12. Imagining it in a JCC accent and staccato
  13. Why such a small breadth of content? Oldfeller points to sexual deviance so why not can porn full stop? Then as you say beheading and other violence? Perhaps we should stop people even extolling violence on the Internet, like setting fire to hotels with people in? I mean its the same ball park isn't it? What on earth does this even mean? You blame people who point out that people kill people rather than scapegoating people of a certain race or religion for killing! Bizarre
  14. Scottish brothers cross the Pacific 140 days non stop rowing! What a feat its surprising what young people will endure for others as they raise around 700 000 for a water charity in Madagascar. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9876y4z4rgo
  15. Oh dear, you do have a thing about botties dontcha? Repressed latent homosexual tendencies?
  16. No one seems to have picked up that Robin had been seen spouting right wing and anti semitic rhetoric on the video, so that brings something else to the table too.
  17. Try breathing slowly and get a coherent set of ideas lined up rather than just letting it pour out in a torrent.
  18. Be nice or I'll come round and shove a ferret up your nightie!
  19. I thought that the original post was odd, his replies certainly didn't seem to indicate that he wanted to be convinced. Anyway I hope that he'll return at some stage no matter what the outcome and we can clear it all up in a civil manner. I know I have not been civil, but I suspect that when people get agitated for whatever reason the natural order of things tend towards a downward spiral which doesn't help 🤔
  20. Sad really, nothing but hate in their heart.
  21. Lots of trends trending ATM
  22. Funny (sad?) how so much of this is political point scoring, a couple of innocent children shot in an American church doesn't seem to be outrageous enough to mention.
  23. First time I met with it was about 2002 when a work colleague said his cousins friend (immediate red flag) had seen someone drop their wallet while shopping in London and returned it to the person, a middle Eastern man, he wanted to give her £10 for being so honest but she refused so he said "You have been very kind, let me give you some good advice, don't be in London at the weekend!" Quick Google sorted that one out as it was repeated across many platforms over many months. In most cases gullibility is the problem but I really struggle with cases like this.
  24. Not really I see them at the usual (funerals etc) as we are the length of the country away. If my attitude to other nations is negative why would I talk to middle Eastern people, eat Indian/Italian/Chinese etc food, go on foreign holidays, I've been to over 24 different countries from Sri Lanka in the east to the Americas in the west and from the Falklands to the Kola inlet in Russia, but you think I'm negative about other nations. Not interesting, just stupidity or not understanding.
  25. We ain't that daft! Ours is in a trust, doesn't matter how dottle we get the bin lids get it.
