Chainsaw Trousers - Again!

If ever there's one item of kit that seems to evade me and cause me nowt but bother it's flippin chainsaw trousers. I think I've had every flippin make there is bar two - and these two seem to be very popular here, namely Stretch Airs and SIP Freedom. I've been round all the shops, got touchy feely with the trousers blah blah blah and am completely fed up; maybe I should start manufacturing the perfect ballistics! My climber wears the SIPs and they don't cause him any discomfort whatsoever. I am looking for Type A trousers that are freezing - I know they don't exist. So fed up with heat slowing me down. Have tried Stihl Hi-Flex (too tight and scrappy materials IMO), Oregon Super Comfort (OK but hot and have two seams in exactly the wrong place!). The latest Husky ones feel very thin but I'm told they aint so flexible. So for the N'th time of trying I've narrowed it down to the two above. They will be class A's for ground work (no climbing) only. Please vote in this 2 horse ONLY race!

How Bored am I with these bloody sip v stretch threads ! AAAAARRRGH! Look mate, get some chainsaw chaps n wear shorts-that is the coolest rig fr summer-they are class 'c' anyways so you can climb in em.

Doesn't help me because a) I'm bored too but could not find a specific SA vs SF thread or vote and b) I don't climb thus class C will never be required and chaps are crap imo.

i have a pair of stretchair type c and a pair of freedoms and i would say that they are as good as each other. the pro's and cons of each balance each other. For summer i'd go for the sips as they are fairly light but probably not as hard wearing as the stretchairs. i think it's purely personal choice.

try hi flex in class a, you can climb in them as long as your risk assessment has allowed for them.

Had SIP and Stretchs, SIPs 1st, bought S/Airs and gave the SIPs away, imo not in the same league. Last bought new S/As so I could wash em and have a dry pair ready, and doubt I'll go back to any other makes.

stretch airs all the way, no question. i have had my pair(typec)for 3years, will last another couple no bother, the zip goes quick but that is all. i ordered a new pair from jonesie just because they are a good price and i will hide away. these new ones are even better made than the ones i have already. if you are a small, then you can have these ones as i am sending them back for mediums
