Yeah, plus when the kids are older you've got cheap labour.

My son was 10+ before he was strong enough to pull-start a chainsaw but up until then they'll have to just use a axe.

Pmsl. Four finger Freddie is good on the axe!!

I'd sit tight where you are for now, at least until you have all/most the gear you are going to need, and picked up some occasional work. £26k/year isn't bad money, depending on where you're based.

When I first started I already had all my gear, and some work before I left my job. Along with savings in the bank, a redundancy pay-off, and no children.

It worked out, but the first couple of years were very hit and miss.

Sound advice. :001_smile:

Yeah but they can load bags a lot younger. My lad was tying on saws and dragging brash at seven:biggrin:

Is it true if you have a climber working for you, the person on the ground (me) has to be qualified to get up the tree if there is an accident?

If so this could be a massive cost lol

Would you not want to be able to rescue the climber working for you if he had an accident?

Would someone be able to do a quick list of everything needed starting up a business in garden/tree maintenance. E.g insurance, waste tickets etc etc

Just a bullet point list is fine if you can [emoji15][emoji16]
