good luck with your project, i thought of doing this but the sums didnt add up for me, you will need to invest about 100k and that 55 quid an hour soon gets lost, i get 50 quid an hour with my loppers and tiny 4 inch greenmech chipper working under a mile from home in folks gardens. not as cool i know but a lot easier and better for the pocket. i think the market for it has crashed myself, with site clearances dried up and firewood so valuable most folk arent chipping big or mulching, and the woodfuel chipping isnt easy with a smaller unit. good luck anyway

if you know your stuff then anything is viable, i am useless at mechanics and that was my downfall with kit, having to wait for a mechanic or fitter and sometimes a simple 5 quid belt or hose would leave me stuck for a day or 2. if you could use it on other jobs and buying in doesnt cripple you then go for it

There is plenty of market for chip right now. I will buy every scrap you can produce, and collect it from you in artics.

Bear in mind the BC2000 is at the large end of the Arb type chippers, rather than being a small biomass chipper. Ideal for sitework, but it will need a 200+ hp engine to cope.

You will need at least 10 sets of knives, and turn them every 6 hours. The drum on the vermeers was never the best quality, nor the bearings. Keep the knives razor sharp to avoid strain.

PM me with details if you want any further help. I can also give you some work aswell.
