i was due to start working for southern electric on the 1st of september but because there was an accident a few weeks before I had a phone call from them saying on the friday before a was due to start working that i couldn't because they can't recruit until a full health a saftey investagation was complete. they had no idea when it would be possible for me to start. ive rang them three times but every time ive had the same reply of "I don't know when you can start" yesterday i rang and he said he would get his boss to ring me to try and give me a better idea. I don't know whether he just said that to keep me happy. I don't really know whether to wait it out or just go self employed and work for various people on a self employed basis because i have a few people who would maybe be willing to take me on but at the moment work is not garanteed im not sure what to do any body got any advice?

Dont keep your eggs in one basket?

I suppose it also depends on how much cash you have etc to keep afloat.

Surely you have nothing to lose if you have work for other people it may turn into a better option or at least it would keep you in the swing (no pun) of things and give you an income.Especially if people are happy to give you work?

Christmas is round the corner n you don't want to be skint for then.

Then by the time they get back to you and you go for the job it would look better for you as you havnt sat on your jacksie...cause every day you learn something new

Well out of your 2 options (that i can see)

Option 1 Sit at home hoping SE will call and give you a job, but earn nothing in the meantime

Option 2 Go and earn some money where and when you can, still waiting for SE to call but making money while you do.

I doubt we need a poll to see what everyone would do :001_smile:
