3.5-7.5 T legal payload capacity

Looking to go for a bigger pickup so not overloaded

Anyone know what there actual legal capacity is that they have.

Looking new Isuzu or canter type things but open to suggestions

Just don't want to still end up getting it too big and heavy so can't legally carry enough logs and chip.

Am I been unrealistic to expect 3 ton minimum payload?

I looked at the 7.5ton Isuzu at the APF, had a steel brittip body on (not high arb sides) 3.7ton payload

30k plus vat iirc.

6.5 tonne iveco would be my choice, 3.5 tonne payload at a guess

 

My friends crewcab has 3 tonne payload, the single cab with an ally body is nearly 4 tonne payload

We've a 7t Iveco with high alloy sides on a steel tipping bed.

Tool box behind cab.

Holds 9m3 on paper but on reality you chip 8m3 into it.

Payload is 3.5t

Fully loaded with 3 guys, tools and chip we remain legal.

Something to do with the oldies license rights perhaps?

where you can drive upto 7.5t vehicle and tow upto 3.5t trailer but combined can't be more than 8250. 6.5t truck would give 1.75t trailer allowance

We could have ordered an all alloy body but the cost was very high for 200 kg won.

Because most 7.5 tonners are downrated 10 tonners for the UK market, they work well at 10 tonnes but at 7.5 tonnes the payload is pretty pathetic.

 

The exception to that is the Merc 814 with a bonnet.

 

The newer 7.2 tonne Iveco looks good too.

Yeah that's the one. I think you need a C licence to exceed 8250 train weight. So you can't have bigger chippers on a fully loaded 7.5t truck. And let's be fair if your looking for a bigger wagon you kinda need a decent size chipper to fill the bugger.

7.5 tonner anything from 3 to 4 tonne depending on make and body type ( keep away from Tarmac Bodys there heavy

 

3.5 tonner transit etc 1 tonne of there abouts as most trucks are 2200 / 2300 kg empty add men n kit
