It's an odd one! It looks like the trees belong to the neighbouring property and all the foliage on that side remains. Perhaps they couldn't reach an agreement about overhanging branches? Don't know the history. I was thinking, better to leave as dead standing rather than cut down but perhaps there wasn't the option of clear fell if they didn't own the trees? It's a nice straight topping out ( if straight lines are a good thing?) it's pretty stark, but hey, standing dead has to be better than felled and bare??

When I saw the title I thought the thread was about Julia Bradbury.

 

When I see stuff like that I always wonder if the client thinks it's coming back next spring.
