I know, makes you wonder. i did a job about a month back, crown lift and 10% thin some "big" sycies in a back garden, 2 of em no more than 30ft ladie wanted it done to shut next door up over light issues, she was quoted £1000 to do it, bit steep she thought, i charged her 300 quid and was done 3 hours, i felt a bit quilty but she was happy and 700 quid better off.......

I heard a story of some farmer getting someone in to crown raise 3 big ish oaks and canopy clean all 3, they stacked all the brash in the hedge at foot of tree and was there for half a day. £10,000.

Later that year my mate was sent to these trees to clean the crown and raise them the same trees !! Farmer thought he owned trees but turns out the council own them!!

Farmer was pithie to say the least. Not sure how true it is but could belive a verbal joke quote and customer accepts !!!

Have had some customers tell me about ridiculously high prices but they are usually on big stuff or awkward trees that some people either cant do or wont do.

Best one was just under £3000 to remove one 12" limb of a scycamore!

Well it was over a greenhouse and fence :sneaky2:

Did the job in less than an hour for £150 :thumbup1:
