Visited a pub for tea while I were away camping on holly island and came across these solid wood tables but have no idea what type they could be any ideas?

Pics dosnt do them justice thanks for looking and any comments.

Could be American black walnut. It does go that colour if it gets some sunlight on it otherwise it tends to be a bit darker.

I thought of walnut but there's just too many different colours in it and too light I think the tables were pretty new also having no damage to them in a busy pub.

i don't think it is a walnut species.

 

it looks very similar to some albizia species i've seen and even one of the thousands of acacia species there are but it also looks like some very low grade dalbergia genus (rosewood) species that come from south east asia. this is what i think it is.

Much as I don't like to disagree with Steve who is very knowledgable about woods I am pretty sure your tops are American walnut. The picture is our kitchen top made of American walnut. The other thing is there are lots of fantastic and diverse woods out there most things end up being made with the usual suspects. Am walnut is widely available and widely used due to it's beauty and ease to work with.

So its more like the sapwood of the walnut rather than the darker Heartwood?
