I seem to be struggling to find a pure plant insurance policy.

Most want to sell a complete package or wont cover as I dont do normal Arb work or wont cover for fire risk as its near a fire / firewood.

Suggestions?

When you say plant insurance do you mean to cover you for public liability doing digger work/ groundworks etc or to cover you for the actual machines. Trust insurance recently sorted me out a plan to cover all digger work up to 3 meters depth- it doesn't include any tree work or anything just groundworks and fencing etc.

Hope that helps.

I want to insure the machine for theft, damage ect.

Last time I had NFU insurance (smallholding policy) they wanted to cover everything or nothing.

Just done my mini digger through Nfu, very comprehensive policy allows you to pick and choose what bits you do and don't want, also covers, the trailer for the digger and loss of earnings through breakdown and cost of hire to cover breakdown etc and actually came out at a pretty reasonable cost to, although they did use 8yrs ncd off an old car policy I had which may have helped.
