Did you not watch the video? there is no way wedges or a felling lever would push that big back leaner over like that.

I know the swdesh foresters have been using them with great success. Kristoffer (swe kip) has one and highly rates it.

:blushing:... um, no... i just jumped in there with an opinion, based on pics i saw of one being used a few years ago (on easily wedgeable trees).

i stand corrected, handy tool in the right application

Looks like a very handy tool in the right situation, ie commercial felling. One man and saw getting lots of trees on the ground with minimum fuss and kit.

I got one of them, and it's handy for pushing trees over that has backlean and to secure tress from pinching your bar.

I have used it on tress that have been 60cm dbh and 20m tall with heavy backlean and it has worked flawless so far.

It works very good oon smaller diameter trees that has allot of backlean and can't wedged.

But it can not replace wedges, I look at it as another tool in box :)

(Heavy backlean = next step would have been ropes)

Dito SweKip!

I use a olderversion of on some trees, even the combination with wedges has helped me on heavy backleaners. Costs a fair bit of dosh, but for forrestry its good and works well. In a bog....use a weight spreading board or an old car tyre rim cut in half...:sneaky2:
