Hello, looking for someone who does chainsaw carving. It's for a customer who has some Laylandi stumps at the front of his property. Not sure what he wants carved but would be good to see a profile of your work and a guide price.

Job is in Kent between Meopham and Wrotham.

Great to see there is a homeowner out there that's open to that option! I've tried several times, when the right stem in the right place presents itself, to suggest retention and a carving commission but never had anyone that would even entertain the option. Not that I could do it, but I'd love to see it done!

Keep plugging it. It is becoming a more common option, but still an expense many don't want. We probably only score one in 30 odd suitable stumps :(

Conifer wouldn't last very long though would it?

Or do you treat with a preservative of some kind?

Cheers...Al

Leylandii is pretty resilient, more so than many hardwoods. Hated by many but it's a great wood to carve 👍
