it's a POV 1 (or 1.5) they're around £400 new unfortunately.

You're right mate, I think that was the last cut before I came down for lunch, came back up with the 385... still had one split with that though. It was laziness tbh I should have gone out and taken some weight off the two that split. There were some big ones though, buried the 28"bar on the 385 a couple of times.

Both those limbs were seriously long, a gob cut would have hit the floor before it broke off, unless the gob was so narrow it might as well have been a step cut. The only safe way to do them would have been to go out and break them down, but like I said, Im lazy.

 

You'll never get an inboard stepcut take the saw. They can split though.

I let Andrew do it, good practise for him, needed a letterbox as my biggest bar is the 28" on I was using up the tree. It was pretty fecked, even at the base.
