Finished this carving off today for a customer, again i ended up putting paint on the eyes. I need help carving eyes and not just burning them in i thnk:001_rolleyes:

Like him, he's got character. I use 24mm glass marbles for eyes on my owls.

Thank you, Yes i have used marbles in the past, i may give it a go again

 

but there are carvers on here that put the eyes in.... i will keep practising

I've a couple of eye tools but find they never look quite right.

I normally resort to chisels to get the correct shape. Shallow gouged and a skew chisel.
