We use pole and laser a lot for groundworks obviously. This digger mounted version looks bloody good and has potential to save a fair bit of manual labour checking levels.

 

The fact you can move the digger around a site and keep the datum without getting out the cab is great.

I've seen 'dozers fitted with satellite systems so they can grade earthworks without any traditional setting out.

Could do with a similar system for our 3 tonner....

 

I've seen the simple laser 'sender unit' on a tripod, with the 'receiver' held with a magnet on the dipper arm.

 

Has an audible alarm when you are either in or out of line....

 

Anyone know how much these systems are??

We used a machine mounted level 20 years ago. Hardly new technology but I would definitely recommend one.
