Loads of plants to weed round intricately and lots of it ...customer spent over 60k on plants and I'm looking for quicker option

 

 

If there is £60k of plants do not rush it. It will cost what it costs

Hindsight is easy but if the area had been covered with membrane first and planted through this problem would not have arisen. Were you involved with planning and planting?

Unfortunately wasn't involved with planning ! Wish I was there's lots of funny things.... Is chippings a good thing to put down after weeded areas ??

Fresh chippings tend to pull lots of nitrogen out of the soil so the plants may suffer if you were to use that on beds.

 

A friend uses lots if this stuff, it's called strulch: https://www.strulch.co.uk

We've not used it yet but I may buy a few bags to try around our strawberries.

As said, there are no shortcuts. £60K is an awful lot of plants or not so many but big. Must be an extensive planting.

 

Hoeing is good but best on a bright day; Cape Cod weeder; small fork or trowel; spot spray with Roundup where you can.

 

Get them out before they seed and when you're done fine bark mulch as deep as poss.

Works very well but very expensive -- not many suppliers. Contains a weed suppressant.

That looks good. I use the wolf tools push pull hoe. they come in two sizes. I have worn one out completely. broken a couple. welded one up with reinforcements. I think I must like them:001_tt2:

Thats what ive used in the past the oscillating motion makes them easier to use.

Back pack or hand held sprayer, pre and post emergent herbicide based on what your attempting to kill and control, mulch after control has been achieved and pre emergent there after. That simple.
