we have an 02 plate tipper and it still going strong.

 

The new ones are 7.2 ton GW downplated to 3.5 which is nice. easy carry a good 5 ton :thumbup1:

my 58 reg seems good underneath, the tipper body needs maintaining. I tidied it up when i got it about 3/4 years ago, now i just touch it up with some hammerite once a year or so.

Hopefully they have come good again. Ours lost all the paint underneath. Mechanically was sort of OK. Our old Sprinter is better though.

Anyway just keep an eye on the chassis paint. Perhaps a coat of waxoyl if you get a problem.

what does the new 1 weigh when empty i wonder? Should be able to carry about 1 ton legally now it's been downplated to 3.5 ton ?
