Groundie boots versus climbing boots HELP

Doing my cs38 & cs39 in two weeks have waldwalkers at present and wondered if any one had some advice on whether I need climbing boots as well as groundie boots and the pros and cons for both help please

Have you done / tried any climbing in your current boots? I think all ground boots van be used to climb and most climbing boots can used on the ground. Whether they're all suitable is a different question - support, flexibility etc.

Got the groundie ones as told they harder wearing than climbers but not as flexible thought may try a day in them but don't want to be trying new boots at start of course either lol

I know people that climb in meindl wood walkers. To be honest I didn't even know there was a difference! I climb in Arbortec Scafell XER just in case you wanted to know. Took a bit of getting used to but I absolutely love them. Awesome grip

I have the meindl airstream. Really nice on the ground or in a tree

Just still with the boots you've got. Climbing boots won't make you a good climber as you'll have much bigger issues to deal with, like learning to use the gear safely and climb a tree.

I've found most boots fine to climb in woodwalkers / scafell / Andrew etc but have never had a climbing specific pair as I do 70% forestry work, I would however avoid the higher leg boots as they constrict movement up the tree
