Link between forestry Tree surgery & log production

Can somebody please define types of forestry, i am trying to ascertain a ink if their is 1 between tree surgery, forestry & log processing

All i know is a lot of the limited companies are listed as silverculture and forestry

I'm not sure there are different types of forestry; surely it's either forestry or it's not?

 

Forestry = Tree farming

I regard forestry as the management of multiple trees and arb as the management of individual trees.

For your purposes which are probably linked to your farm purchase there is no link. Forestry is banded with agriculture, tree surgery and log production is commercial. The council turn half a blind eye to log production on farms because they dont really have an alternative solution, they can and do chase tree surgeons off farms that dont have the relevant permissions.

Forestry is generally aimed towards producing a large volume of a relatively low-value product (there are exceptions).

 

Where as, and i'm sure someone will correct me, but,

Tree surgery is providing a high value service based primarily on amenity and health & safety works.

 

Log processing converts either commercial forestry product or waste arb into a domestic resource.
