Timberwolf 150 issues

Evening folks,

I have a 2002 tw 150 it's seen some use but for most tree work it works a treat. However, give it any conifer or similar material and eventually it clogs up and stalls. A lot of the green material is jamming up the blade disk solid. Has anyone experienced this before, is there something I am doing wrong? Like I said give it anything without any green material and it works a treat.

All of what Mick said and one other. If you hang up the rollers and look at the throat of the of the housing to the right hand side of the anvil you may well find excessive wear. Small twigs and stringy stuff get drawn in at this point and not chipped. This is the housing itself and will need welding up.

The no stress has a mind of its own sometimes working sometimes not. It's has seen some use has this one.

The reason I ask is that if the revs drop slightly you loose draft, which can lead to blockage, this is sometimes simply the throttle slipping back, also the "no stress" prevents material slowing the flywheel enough to reduce the draft.

So the stress control and broken fins could be a likely cause.

They certainly won't help, IMO TW are good chippers, but they need to be set up spot on, sharp blades, tight anvil, engine at full tilt, etc, they are pretty low power and a small flywheel, there is little room for things to be out before they stop performing well.
