I blooming good saw you don't want to waste.

I'm not a pro fixer.

I'd take muffler off. Get the piston to BDC. blow air gently through spark plug hole and hold it to blow down out exhaust port.

Then put a little magnet inside on string and roll it around until it doesn't pick any bits up.

I think the piston and pot are alloy!

You need to get the cylinder off and clean the crankcase /fly wheel area out, the debris can get there through the transfer ports.

Ensure there is no wire in there or the ports, or it will likely wreck things on start up.

Try it, let us know how it goes. I wouldn't even know where to by them from without a Google.

Nah, think I will give it a miss as most use piston stops or rope and gather they work OK:001_rolleyes:

I would take the top end to get rid of all the debris, the steel bits would cause havoc with the bore and go very carefully refitting the rubber boot, I usually fit the rubber part and then the plastic support and clamp - it saves misaligning the impulse nipple.

Hey guys, thanks for the help.

I tried the pipe cleaners, that was the mistake, they might have been strong enough but the piston pushed them out cept for one which got stuck. It wouldn't come out so I had to finish turning the clutch :(

So...

I carefully rotated the clutch to bring the piston down, could detect no feeling of debris between it and the cylinder. Where it falls in line with the top of the cylinder and creates a tunnel the wire is resting on top of that. I haven't moved the saw around a whole bunch so the wire won't have got into many places, it's a bit oily. Do you really think there is a chance it can have gotten into other places I can't see?

I've manifested a magnet fixed to a long pole used for aid batteries. Well almost manifested, should have it in a few hours. If I can get it all out with this what do you people of the saw think?

I'll try not to be biased to thumbs ups [emoji1417]
