I never got used to wearing mine like that Joe. I know it's how it is supposed sit but I could never get the hang of it, especially with the saw attached. Mine is cranked up real tight on the waist and the leg loops nice and loose. The saw pulls it down to my ankles otherwise.

Am I breaking the law wearing it like this?

Yes timon, you are... The unwritten rule of the trees about wearing your TM up to your elbows... It's pretty serious

As I understand it it was designed to sit low to give better range of movement.

 

Never had the sweat problem really.

Me neither joe , but in all seriousness why wear something not how it was designed to be used ?there are so many harnesses out there now the choice is unbelievable , back when in the day when there was virtually zero choice and the only harnesses available compressed and your kidneys so bad they made you pish blood if you did lots of saddle time and vigorous climbing I absolutely love the fact my tree motion hangs off my hips.

The real reason I wear it this way is because I'm an old man. Everything is worn high on the waist when you get to my age. If I wore it low on the hips and rolled one trouser leg up I'd look like a real tree gangsta. Trouble is, at my age it wouldn't be very cool.

Dunno mate. When I got mine I took the time to adjust it properly, and I wear mine low. I hate the idea of a harness hugging your lower back.

 

That said, my colleague wears his like that, and still seems to rate it. I reckon he's probably not getting the most out of it, but it don't seem to bother him, so fair enough.
