The only thing mounted in the trailer would be the battery, the split charge system is fitted to the car but its weight is only grams

It will run off a 7 pin socket, some run the live for the charge system from the lights but that's definitely non standard.

An aux (caravan) socket is a better idea but better yet is an Anderson type connector

Can the Anderson run strait of the car battery.

In a word, yes. Anderson types come in a variety of amp capacities from lightweight ones that are suitable to carry a charge supply, to bigger ones that will run a tipper pump without the need for a second battery.

This is exactly what I have on my L200. Cables running to rear anderson plug via an isolator switch. Anderson plug on a cable running to tt85 tipper. Works great.

is the isilater on the pickm up

Yes. Standard red key one. You can get one that goes nicely onto the battery terminal so it's under the bonnet.

It's not essential but safer and stops anyone being able to plug anything else in and wear your battery out.
