. Maybe I'm missing out but i don't want carabiners that need cleaning/lubricating on a daily basis.

Maybe DMM carabiners are not for you, I quit using them years ago as ppe they are just not robust enough without constant maintenance.

I'm staying a DMM customer. My first DMM was twenty five years ago. You're right about them needing more TLC but in my opinion they worth it.

What makes them worth it out of interest? They are no different from any other carabiner just more unreliable.

I am a big fan of DMM kit myself to, just not their carabiners.

For two or three times i wanted to try something different the only thing that kept me buying DMM carabiners was the clicking sound they make while closing i'm so used to they sound i can tell instantly if there's something wrong.

I do have some petzl carabiners which are basically maintenance free.

To each his own.

I like the dmm ultra o's on my zigzag and ive got a revolver.Ive never had problems with my dmm biners, just a blow out with an airline.

Still struggling to think of a good scenario for those durolock biners...chockering around a stem maybe good or at tie in point for srt.

I think it's only small improvement in safety . The barrel is thicker and has more corners to snag.
