I use (many others aswell) the Zubat nice curved blade also have Big Boy on stand by. BTW they all are completely different saws lol.

How does the curve effect cutting? Im gessing it would be faster am i correct,, i understand that there all different otherwise there wouldent be so many i just wondered how these differences effect usage,

How long do the blades last with general use?

I find the curve ones more efficient for cutting, but longer blade ones can eat everything.

As a first saw I would go for 300mm zubat, see how you get on and take it from there.

I prefer the streight edged ones as I often do little directional felling cuts when reducing if the limbs are a little too large to hand hold.

I find the Natanoko 2000 is a good compromise between curved and straight blades.

I use a Zubat 330, the knob on the end of the blade ( no, the other end !) stops it from pulling out of the cut - perfect for when you're using it at an awkward angle. I don't climb though, so can't comment on how useful it is for that.

Curved Zubat i think i have. Whichever you go for, if you climb get a 'sawpod' holder- they're great!!
