Jensen a530 not feeding well

Hi ive brought a second hand jensen a530xl 2008 used it today but found the infeed rollers were not feeding in well the timber chattering between then, what could be the cause? Also the chips are more shreds than chips!! Was told blade were new but i can see it! Im not sure how to check cheers for any advice!

If the blades are new you'd be able to slice your fingers on them! To check, lift the bonnet, undo single bolt holding flywheel cover and slowly lift cover - the chute is quite heavy. Blades are easily accessible. Check they pass close to the anvil (can't remember the clearance will look in the workshop manual when I'm in the workshop again)

The spring that tensions the top roller can get bunged up with debris stopping it pulling down properly. Unbolt the cover ,lever it up with a bit of 3x2, hammer it onto the housing and use long nose pliers to pull out anything caught up in the mechanism.

If the feed rollers are hesitating, the speed sensor may need adjusting closer to the pulley.

I've just had a grinder onto my in feed rollers and it's made a HUGE difference. They need to be fairly sharp to be good.

 

Did you get the rollers out to sharpen then or do them on the machine? My blades are sharp but machine gets jammed more often than it used to
